See All ReviewsThis restaurant is no longer "The Olympus Restaurant" but has been renamed to "The Early Bird". The remodeling is trendy and modern which would appeal to the tourist croud. The menu selection is extremely limited (one back to back sheet), and we had difficulty deciding what to order. The prices are expensive for what you get. Worst of all, no one in our party of four liked their meal. Tasteless, under seasoned and dry. One of our party had the Ribeye steak, eggs, fried potatoes and toast for $18.00 (steak was cold, potatoes were dry and eggs tasted like it was from a mix). I had the Coffee Cake Pancakes (very bland and dry) for $10.00. Another was Biscuits and Gravy with potatoes (dry biscuit, not enough gravy and the gravy flavor was a let down), this was also $10.00. I doubt we'll ever go back. Although the service was great and others must like the food because it has steady business.
My Fiancee and I absolutely love this place, we stop here about 3-4 times a year on our way back to Detroit (from Chicago). The service is always great, and it has a nice small town friendly feel, the prices are very reasonable as well. We almost always order breakfast, which is served all day. We either order the Olympus breakfast, which includes two eggs, choice of meat, and potatoes, or omelettes, which are the size of your head! We almost never finish them, and we get breakfast the next day! If you are driving along I-94 and want to grab a bite, this place is a must try!
Service was really slow. Took them almost 20 minutes to come take our order. Waitress got my drink wrong. Also gave me my dinner to someone else, and I got her's. I had the hot turkey sandwich. Not near enough gravy. Hardly any gravy on the mashed potatoes. Very disappointed, for my first visit.
