Me and my partner just had lunch at the cafe onion. We are impressed the staff were nice the food was great. I had a hamburger deluxe with French fries and my partner had a crab cake sandwich with chips the food was delicious we will definitely be back.
This kind of place just doesn't exist anymore. Great food in a comfortable atmosphere for a reasonable price. I take all my friends here, it's such a chill place to eat well and feel the pulse of Lancaster. I recommend the tofu stew on a cold, rainy day.
Onion’s Cafe is a family-owned restaurant mixed with American breakfast and lunch options with Korean-inspired dishes. I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch, and both times were outstanding. Prices are super affordable and portions are excellent. I recommended any dish featuring the kimchi. It has the perfect amount of spice without being overkill. I absolutely loved both the Kimchi and cheese omelette, along with the kimchi fried rice with beef. The home fries are also super crispy for the perfect texture. Well, worth the trip.
What a fun concept of a cafe! I loved their idea of mixing American diner/cafe culture with Korean cuisine. The food wasn’t out of this world, as it was pretty mediocre to what we’ve had before. However, it was pretty fun having my wife and I eat two completely different meals in one restaurant! (I had the a spicy ramen bowl and she had a french toast breakfast)
Hands down the best breakfast food anywhere I’ve ever been in my entire life. The consistency alone is mind blowing. I’ve been here 3 separate times already and every single time I’m blown away by the quality and taste. They have one cook here and I can only describe her as an absolute goddess. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Every single plate of food I’ve witnessed this establishment serve to anyone looks diaBOLically delicious. 🤤🤤🤤 ♾️A+♾️
The onions cafe is a very affordable small time mom and pops cafe. It’s not like there’s anything magical about the place, but it’s a decent spot to visit if you’re looking for good diner food.
2025: Still a hidden gem. Get in here and enjoy. They serve up delicious food every time, whether breakfast comfort foods or ramen. 2024: Hidden gem, don't pass it up! It's really easy to walk up Queen St and think it's a quaint dinner and keep walking past. You're right, it is quaint, but don't walk past! They've got food all day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They're a diner, so you can get your cheap comfort foods, and they're a Korean eatery so you can get ramen, kimchi, fried rice, dumplings and more. We've lived in the city for 8 years and only just went- should have come sooner.
We really enjoyed this place!! Great food, the waiter was friendly, and cute place overall. There are food options for everyone - from simple American breakfast foods to unique Korean dishes. I got the bitbop dish, and it was delicious and a good portion! My husband got fried rice and really enjoyed it. The meat is very sauteed! Great place and we'll definitely come back.
