As a Korean that grew up near a large K-Town, I am used to the abundance of restaurants offering flavorful Korean food and my standards are high. It has been relatively difficult to find decent Korean food in the Florida panhandle. Osan is where I go to get my fix for Korean food. It’s not the best Korean that I’ve had, but still a solid Korean restaurant with good food. Probably one of the best, if not the best, in the area. My non-Korean husband also enjoys the food here. I brought my Korean mother here and she also enjoyed the food at Osan’s. Our typical orders: tuna tataki (yummmm!), chicken tangsuyuk (husband’s favorite), beef bulgogi (baby’s favorite), and I usually order something new every visit. The chachangmyun (black bean noodle) was good, soon tofu stew is okay, jjampong noodle was okay, rice cake soup was good. My only qualm about this restaurant is the pricing; it’s quite expensive compared to the area I grew up in with a lively Korean community. It’s $17 for rice cake soup here; about $12-13 back home. Or the galbi (short ribs) are $32 here; back home would be around $25-28. Would recommend Osan if you’re looking for traditional Korean food in the Destin/ FWB area.
Both meals were seasoned perfectly. The side dishes were interesting & added nice variety. It would’ve been helpful to know exactly what each side dish was, & small bowls for soy sauce would’ve made the experience even better. Overall, the restaurant’s location, food, service, & atmosphere were all good!
Loved the place. The food was a cut above the rest. It was the most authentic and delicious Korean food ive ever tasted. The Kimchi and galbi is personally nostalgic, my Korean grandmother would make these dishes all the time and it tastes exactly like it. But I would say the service is a little icky. Id have to wait for someone to come out just to get a refill, silverware, to-go boxes. The food surprisingly didnt take a while despite being a table of 6. And the waitress was very kind, we had great small talk with her. To be honest, the place was quite a hole in the wall. It wasnt a great attention grabber, kind of worn down. What they lack in aesthetics they make up for great food. So overall it was decent, theres not many korean restaurants with authentic food like that.
