This is a small Asian restaurant with dishes from Thai to Sushi. The wait staff was nice. Food came out slowly. Ginger tea was tasty. The food was really good, fried tofu was cubed, the Beef Pho was tasty but the beef was a bit chewy but the broth was flavorful. Not a lot of add ons like I've seen at other places. Sweet rice and mango was a bit like a thick rice pudding with sweet mango slices on the side.
This has been our favorite Thai restaurant for years. I have brought countless guests there. Yesterday afternoon was the last time we will dine there. Waiter (young man in ponytail) spent endless time getting to us as he was telling another table about his other job. We finally got our appetizers, then another 1 hour wait for our main meal. This is so disheartening to see post after post of horrible service. Very upsetting, a 5th grader could manage this small restaurant better, NO LEADERSHIP AND NO TEAMWORK
I've come here a lot in the last few years and I'm assuming they are under new management again. Our experience here was terrible. It wasn't very busy at 6 when we arrived so we were sat immediately. It took a few minutes before our server showed up to take our drink orders and even longer before we got them. We ordered some sushi and fried rice. I've really enjoyed the rice here in the past, however the rice I received was bland and expensive. 13 dollars for rice with veggitables and it taste like nothing. The waitress was a ghost. While I expect sushi to take so time to prepare I do expect to see my server every now and then. The Edamame was way to salty. The only good part of the meal was the sushi. The California supreme was perfect. The spider roll we ordered was great until the last piece which was full of shrimp tails. Hard crunchy meat less shrimp tails. After this wholly sub par meal we had to wait an additional 15 minutes, clearly done with our meal, for our waitress to offer us water were in we immediately asked for the bill.
Definitely the worst dining experience ever. I don't often write reviews but I believe no one else should have to go through this! The following events occurred at our one and only visit (I took my parents for a Christmas dinner) 1) waiter came after 15 minutes. Didn't speak good english 2) appetizer took 30 mins, incomplete. 3) food came in before we were done with our appetizer. 4) they didn't have straws, nor half of the appetizers we wanted. 5)the silverware were wet and unclean ! The cups had stains on them 6) the waiter had a legit 10 min conversation with a customer while we waited for a refill. By then the cokes had watered down. So what do we get when refilled? A few drops of Coke on top of the water! We didn't even argue, just proceeded without drinks. 7) the sashimi was as fresh as the meat coming off of an Egyptian mummy. And I'm not picky when it comes to freshness There's more but This should be enough. It says "Yelp's favorite on their door" which is funny. We proceeded to McDonald's and enjoyed the great service there
Very bad service and food wasn't very good either. We tried to order two appetizers but were told both were out. We tried the tempura sushi and it was flavorless. Our appetizers didn't come out for 25 minutes after we asked a waiter that wasn't ours to help us. Sushi came out much later and our waitress couldn't even help us identify which rolls were which. Rest of the food came out about 10 min later. We didn't even get the salad we ordered. Waitress charged us for two rolls when we ordered 1. Service was so crappy we didn't even try to correct it. When she charged our card, she charged the card for the wrong check. Sushi wasn't packed well and fell apart when trying to eat with chopsticks. Sashimi didn't seem fresh or cut properly. If you want sushi, pick somewhere else!
Ordered Yellow Curry. Took about 20 to 30 min to come out. Server was super sweet, was right on top of our refills and came out to tell us our food should be out shortly, which you would think would be standard practice for most places, unfortunately I've come to learn this is not the case. I ordered only veggies, no protein. Server was nice and offered extra veggies in replace of protein. The veggies however, were completely raw, which consisted of baby carrots, onions, broccoli, potatoes, mushrooms and red bell peppers. I told the server and she offered to take it back to reheat it, I would of preferred my food was started over than possibly nuked. Especially for sanitary reasons. I was 10 to 15 min, which by then i had almost finished all my white rice and was not offered more. The sauce was soupy and lacked real flavor, plus, it was orange ..never seen yellow curry that color frequenting Thai/Sushi establishments. I don't expect my meal to be comped every time there is any issue, but it would of been nice to see a place who could bring the manager over to rectify the quality control and overall taste of my food. I spent 13.50 for raw food. It was unappetizing to say the least. Don't plan on returning when most privately owned places couldn't care less whether you return or not. Disappointed in the authenticity of the food, and the inability to properly rectify the issue.
Yummy! Yummy! Best Tai food, good atmosphere. Sometimes they can be busy on Friday and Saturday, however the max wait has been 10 minutes for us. Well worth the wait. The food is authentic and the sushi is the"Best". Can't say enough about the food...
The BEST Thai food I've found in Lake County. Their food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. Service is good but one of the female servers doesn't have the most pleasant personality. (Perhaps she's in the wrong business.) We've only been to the restaurant in Mount Dora but they have a venue in Deland, which we would eagerly patronize when out there.
