If I could give this place a zero, I would. I ended up here because of a friend's birhday party, and I will never go again. Snobby, pretentious place, with absolutely terrible service. My grandma moves faster than the staff here. The food portions are ridiculously small and overprices as in any upscale place, which was no surprise. The surprise came when that same food tasted like feet. Only 4 entrees on the menu, and 4 desserts total. The wine list is comprised of 6 different versions of Merlot, so if you were hoping to drink some sweet wine, that's out of the window too. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the already included 20% gratuity for large parties that already gets included in your check as you walk through the door, even though you literally wait for about 30min just to get your drinks, not to mention the food. We left the place hungry and frozen, having paid $100 for the two of us, and all we had was 2 entrees and 2 beers and a cocktail. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
The place is located within minutes of accessible parking, the symphony hall and many other great locations for downtown Houston. The drinks were delicious, the staff was super friendly and the food was out quickly. A group of us shared the cornbread which was delicious and then we decided to order their dip that had ghost pepper caviar. That itself was just ok. I had the country fried pork chop which was decent. The desert we had was about average as well. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is pretty laid back. I'd go back for some drinks to catch up with friends if we just happened to be around the area.
Small menu. Medium cooked burger had excellent bacon and grilled onions, bit cooked medium well. Tea was strong. I'll likely return to see if I can get a better meal, but there was really only one item I was interested in ordering. Several Louisiana named dishes but not accurate such as the rabbit soup called a gumbo and the dirty rice that looks more like a Spanish rice with large chunks of meat.
