See All ReviewsI visited Oyster's Pearl Cafe last weekend with my family after hearing several people recommend their seafood, and honestly the experience ended up being much better than we expected. We usually hesitate trying new seafood places because quality can be inconsistent, but this restaurant immediately gave off a fresh and welcoming vibe the moment we walked in. The atmosphere felt relaxed and comfortable without being overly fancy. The décor had a coastal feel, and the staff greeted us quickly even though the restaurant was busy during dinner hours. We only waited about ten minutes for a table, which honestly wasn’t bad considering how crowded it became later in the evening. I ordered grilled shrimp with rice and vegetables, while my wife chose the fried catfish basket. We also shared oysters as an appetizer since it was our first time there. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly and cooked just right without becoming rubbery, and the oysters tasted clean and fresh, which is obviously important at a seafood restaurant. One thing that stood out was how attentive the service was throughout the meal. Our server checked on us several times, kept drinks refilled, and gave honest recommendations when we asked about menu options. Even with a full dining room, the staff stayed friendly and organized. The portions were generous too. I actually ended up taking part of my meal home because there was more food than expected. Prices were reasonable considering the quality and amount of seafood served. Overall, Oyster’s Pearl Cafe gave us a genuinely enjoyable dinner experience with fresh food, welcoming service, and a relaxed atmosphere. It felt like the kind of local seafood spot people return to regularly, and we’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
What a hidden gem of a restaurant. The fried oysters are totally spot on. Watching the kids play basketball while eating is an added bonus. Alexis and her Dad are doing it right!
We came on 2/18, Alexis was working front of house, she is so wonderful and the food too!! Great personality, great food, she even gave us an extra drink! I haven’t seen such wonderful hospitality in a while at other restaurants in Richmond, so Alexis really made this experience for us! Honestly a great restaurant with great staff, my fiancé and I have decided to come back regularly in the future! Alexis if you are reading this you are awesome!!! Please tell the gentleman who was working in the kitchen that the fish and shrimp were amazing and very yummy 😋
