The first few visits to Pappy Jack’s on Friday for Catfish was the best catfish I’ve ever eaten. However, this Friday night the 29th of May. We had appetizers that had been changed from the fried jalapeno slices we usually get and looked to be an attempt to cut costs by slicing fresh peppers to fry that were not battered very well and we’re too large to fit into the thimble sized ranch dressing containers.The Catfish battering had been changed, before it’s always been a light batter, today the batter in the fish was heavy with cornmeal and large pieces of fish instead of small pieces. Even the napkins were poor quality. I’m going to go back again to make sure it was not just an off day, stay tuned!
We ordered to go cause we were traveling. Great atmosphere, very friendly! Awesome Hot Ham and cheese sandwich and the Best onion rings ever, so crunchy! My husband ordered The California Burger, was big and delicious. We highly recommend.
Had to brag about the food! I’ve eaten here several times now and my husband and I enjoyed! The menu has such variety! Some comfort and some healthier options. Chicken fried chicken and sides were perfect! Loved the chicken tender basket! My friend said best she’s ever eaten and I would have to agree. Tuesday they have a chicken tender special that is crazy good. The chicken quesadillas were packed full and yummy! The burger and fries amazing. Trying to remember everything we’ve tried! Service has been so much better since the first time, mainly because it was Christmas parade night, new staff etc. I would say 4.5 easily but mainly because staff shortage can make service hit or miss. Can’t wait to go back to try the phili cheese steak and the grilled chicken salad.
