See All ReviewsFantastic place! Authentic food, people and music. Delicious , safe fun . The lady at hotel next door didn’t recommend, but only because she hadn’t tried it…
This is a fantastic cultural experience with a great meal. The cuisine was plentiful and tasted amazing. I had calamari with a tomato sauce versus the lighter sauce. Tasted amazing. I had the mixed shrimp and chicken fajitas. The conch ceviche was incredible. When I was so indecisive about where to eat I am glad today I chose to try this place. Happy food.
I don't understand the negative reviews. I stayed at a hotel in this area for 24 hours and enjoyed it so much the first time I came back for lunch the next day. I had dinner here the first night (Saturday evening) it was perfectly quiet and peaceful until after 8pm when a DJ started. The music was louder but it's Saturday night and the name of the place includes karaoke so shouldn't be too surprising. I thought it was perfectly fun and uplifting latin music and lights. The service was so friendly, Janette recommended me a dish based on what I was in the mood for and modified it for my restrictions, but all of the staff were amazing and engaging. Joel was so friendly and helpful, ran into him both times . The meals are very affordably priced for the size and quality. The drinks may be a little pricey to what some are used to, as mentioned in others, but it's a good size/strength pour (and I was also drinking Ciroc). I can't imagine they're that cheap in Miami in general, but I'm not familiar. The first night the platter I had with tostones and meat was delicious. The next day I had pastelitos con carne, those were even better! The interior is clean and spacious. For those complaining about kid friendliness, sounds like they were bringing them late night (despite it being loud I didn't see a problem and I was there until almost 10pm). If you're bringing your kids out in normal hours to bring kids out to a bar/restaurant then it's perfectly kid friendly. My hotel recommended two places and this wasn't one of them, and it had me walking multiple blocks, the recommended one I tried I wasn't a fan of the food and it was cramped. So I'm hoping to save other travelers the trouble, try Patio Tipico first if you're nearby :) p.s. I wish I'd taken a picture of the platter before I had been eating it for a while, it looked even nicer
