See All ReviewsIn town for a weekend from OH, on a sweltering June day. We were looking for good soul food. My sister-in-law who is from IL said IL has the best. So, I wanted to find some, bc I was looking for those red beans and rice I remembered as a kid living in LA. This place went above and beyond for us. They had closed about an hour early due to the heat. The AC just couldn't keep up with the heat from those fryers and the outdoors, completely understandable. So, I decided to ask where another place to eat would be, because the locals always know the best places to eat. In our talking, we discovered that everything I was looking for they had cooked except for the meat pies I think it was, because of the fryers being turned off. So, we ended up with a to go order and it was so good! Still not the same red beans and rice from my childhood in Louisiana, but a great dish! Thank you for your kindness. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with such a wonderful family. The food was stick to your ribs goodness! Hoping to make another trip in for some more this June as we pass through.
This is the best food I've had in a very long time at a restaurant I wish I truly could give it more than 5 stars. The owner was absolutely incredible and so kind. This place is one of a kind. Food was phenomenal in every way freshly made the flavors were incomparable to anything I've had lately
Pee Wees Soul food speaks for itself! Very good shrimp po boys and fried chicken. We look forward to try more of their food. Will and his Mom are very friendly people and care about their customers. So glad we found a staple from the South from when we're not in Louisiana:) God Bless and Thank You
