I'll start with the bottom line: this place is really good. Don't hesitate. You'll be happy. That being said, there's a lot of Halal/Gyro options on Temple campus, so this review is all about discerning minor differences. The service here is great. Fast and friendly. I asked the gentleman what he likes to eat and that's what I ordered: chicken over rice. And it was satisfying and well prepared. I ate every last bite, left the container completely empty. The chicken was standard tandoori seasoned chopped boneless thighs, deep red-orange-amber colored and full of flavor. The salad was crisp, fresh iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and onions (wish it had some tomatoes). The rice, however, could've been better; it was a little wet and although it was yellow, it had barely any flavor. But if you think of it only as a blank canvas for the chicken, it's fine--mix everything up and all tastes like hot sauce and tandoori anyway. The only real negative here is the white sauce, which doesn't have enough tanginess. It needs yogurt or lemon or something. As it is, it tastes like mayo, which makes everything a little bit too creamy with no acid to cut the richness...some bites even took on a chicken salad mouthfeel and flavor, which isn't terrible, but also not exactly what I want from a Halal/Gyro meal. Something citrusy would amplify the cumin and coriander, elevating the whole experience. Still, I'll go back. The place is clean, the prices are fair, the food is good. My criticisms are minor.
