See All ReviewsI’ve been here 3 times. First was when they opened, and it was pretty good. The second time wasn’t good, and the third was inedible. They charge $20 for a cheesesteak so I expect it to be good every time. I watched the cook cut open a plastic bag of precut onions and cook them for maybe two minutes, which of course were still raw when he put it on my sandwich. Disgusting. You’re telling me for $20 a sandwich you can’t dice an onion…? The lady at the front has been the most consistent of this place, she’s always rude. She acts like she’s gods greatest gift to the world and you are experiencing such a privilege of her serving you. I live above this place so it really is a shame that they suck. I will never be spending my money here again.
The quality of the cheesesteak from this place was absolutely outstanding and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a chicken with American cheese steak with sweet peppers and grilled onions and it was cooked absolute perfection piping hot with a perfect ratio of melted cheese and meat and bread. The seeded bun was freshly baked, the chicken was thinly sliced and very flavorful, grilled onions came through with just enough background and the overall bite was superb. I got fries from another place nearby from someone else in my party and those were very good as well. I would absolutely consider taking a ride on the bright line again just to grab one of these sandwiches on my way through the station both on the way in to town and out, lol!
I’ve always heard Peppi’s Pizza is known for having one of the best cheesesteaks in town, and after visiting the original brick-and-mortar location on Second Ave a few months ago, I completely agreed. As a cheesesteak connoisseur, I’d easily rank it in my top three of all time. Fast forward to today, I tried the Brightline location, which feels more like a fast-casual food hall environment. I went in expecting that same incredible experience, especially since it’s the same ownership, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. The sandwich was cold, the bread was hard, and it lacked the flavor and care that made the original location so memorable. I may have set my expectations too high, but consistency matters. Hopefully this was just an off day, because I know how good it can be based on my first experience. PS - Who wants to finish my second half, I don’t want it
