6 years agoThis meal was delicious. Cook time in the microwave was 2 minutes. The food was seasoned to perfection. Not too much salt or sugar. I had rosemary chicken with steamed yams and collard greens. Each portion had its own distinct taste. Delicious. I would recommend this already precooked meal to anyone that appreciates good nutritional food. I am a very picky eater. I ate the whole meal. They gave a nice size portion of well seasoned chicken cubes bites. Nice portion of steamed yams. Not sweet, but just right. The collards had a distinct taste and appeared to have been steamed. I actually like that better. You retain more of the nutrients. One small disappointment. I would have liked a healthy portion of collards. Overall, the meal was superb and I plan to purchase several more in the future. Yes, I am a real person not paid to say this. I did not purchase this. It was given to me and I just happened to really enjoy it.

7 years agoThe worst prepackaged meal I've ever had. I tried both the Herb Crusted Chicken and the Butter Herb Chicken. Both of them had unchewable pieces that I had to spit out. The food, once heated looked gray, mushy and wet. It was so bad, I could not eat it. These plates are very highly priced for what they offer. I paid $5.99 each for them. I've had better luck and more satisfaction with Lean Cuisines at half the price. I'd like a refund. Do yourself a favor and save your $$$$!!!

8 years agoI tried Southern Living Kitchen pecan crusted chicken with bourbon glazed sweet potatoes and creamed corn, or at least that’s what was on the label. It was awful. Not a pecan in sight or even a hint. Could not really tell whether it was chicken or not. The corn was not really creamed. A few yellow pellets and that was it. Supremely disappointed. I have two more waiting in my fridge. Hope they are substantially better.

8 years agoFound these at my local Costco.. 3 meals for less than $5 per meal. I think that they're terrific. I didn't notice that they needed salt, but I normally don't consume much sodium. Besides, you can always add it. So hard to find food without soy, added sugar, wheat, dairy, high fructose corn syrup. I'm going back to get a case and do Whole30 with them.

9 years agoI love these meals they are a great convenience. Even though there is a little bit of blandness, stop being lazy people, they are healthy and the best meals on the market for the protein and health value. Have you some season salt or what I like to use is ranch dressing with the chicken the portable one not to add to much calories. Your so used to tasting healthy choices with 1 million grams of sodium, you don't know what a healthy meal without Loads of sodium taste like. I give five stars for nutritional value. Fed to my two yr old and he ate it as well!

9 years agoThese meals are terrible. Prepared as instructed the Green Turkey Chili Hash and added nothing. While eating it the taste was good but then I experienced a gritty texture about half way through. Could not finish it as I thought some foreign matter might have gotten into the food during processing. Contacted the company to let them know. The response was swift and very apologetic. They offered a coupon for $5 off my next purchase. Had originally bought two meals so told them I would try the second meal and then decide if I wanted to use the coupon to buy their product again. The second meal Texas Chicken Ranch Casserole was tasteless and also had a gritty texture. Notified the company again and they stated they were sad and would notify the kitchen. Something is definitely wrong when there is grit in the meals. Luckily, I did not get sick!

9 years agoI have tried so many of these and while they are super convenient, they are so tasteless and bland. I find the chicken to be pretty dry, consistently. It always always always needs salt, but I can understand and almost appreciate the lack of sodium, considering the kind of food it is. There were a few that were the worst, but for the price, you could easily grab something from My Fit Foods or Snap Kitchen that tastes 100% better. 3 stars for sometimes being on sale, the variety of choices and the two options that weren't terrible.

10 years agoHonestly Terrible I would never buy this again! The chicken was tasteless and had the texture of Liver! I actually bought 2 meals...the first so tasteless that I wanted to see if the other was worth keeping or freezing. I experimented with the time on the second one to see if it was microwaved too long...both meals had really tough chicken and one had black beans that were very hard. The green beans were fine though. 12 dollars to the dogs for dinner:(
