See All ReviewsSince I am not from Peru, I didn't really understand the menu but all was absolutely delicious. Large portions. The seviche and chicken soup were really wonderful. I can't wait to return.
We went with some Peruvian friends, who recommended dishes from their country. I knew Peru was well-known worldwide for its gastronomy, but this restaurant pleasantly surprised me; it has a homey flavor. The dish I ordered reminded me of the purslane my grandmother made when she lived in Mexico. I highly recommend the chicha morada, and I can't say enough about the desserts, especially the alfajores. The prices aren't cheap, but it's worth the trip, although I'm not sure I'd return soon.
Cozy little place that is definitely worth a try! I got the Beef Chaufa (fried rice), yuca con huancaina, and the chicha morada! The yuca con huancaina was tasty! The yuca itself was fried to perfection. A note though, there was no seasonings or salt at all, they left it up to you to sprinkle whatever you wanted. The huancaina was a very interesting dip! Google for more info but it’s a creamy yellow sauce that has cheese and other flavors/seasonings blended into it. The beef chaufa was $17.95 and had strips of beef that were from a very regular cut of beef lol, but at least the portions were giant! Definitely enough to fill up two adults. I’m no expert on Peruvian cuisine but I thought their chicha morada was DELICIOUS and by far my favorite thing I ordered. Perfectly balanced citrus notes and sweetness. I could not stop sipping it. In terms of service, as soon as all our food was served, our server never came back out to ask us if we needed anything so… that’s that. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!
