I wouldn't drive too far for this place. Its pretty much take out only.
Tried the chicken, mac and cheese, yams, cabbage, potato salad. For a soul food spot, I was rather disappointed as I think my own cooking of these foods is much better and I'm not a professional in any way. The chicken was barely seasoned, the mac was less than average and the potato salad was terrible. The yams and cabbage were pretty good. I'm not a harsh food critic but this was just terrible all around. The customer service was perfect though but of course, I can't eat customer service so that was the only saving grace.
The overall ambiance of the establishment was quite enjoyable, with friendly and attentive staff. However, I must provide an honest assessment of the culinary experience. While the ribs were indeed delectable and highly recommended, the accompanying rice and macaroni lacked sufficient seasoning to my palate. It is important to note that this is a subjective opinion and may vary for different individuals. Despite this minor critique, I would still consider revisiting the establishment due to the positive overall experience.
