See All ReviewsI've been wanting to try this place since they opened... Here's my take on the steak taco dinners pros and cons: Pros: authentic flavor and feel... The green sauce is fire... similar to the poblano cream sauce at El Camino Kitchen.... not quite that good but similar!!! Steak flavor is great... Seasoned very well...balanced perfect with the onions and cilantro. Cons: portions are very small... 3 tiny street size tacos... Tiny portions of rice and beans for $15 is a little pricy for me...it was more like a $10-$12 meal...we got 3 of these dinners and one of them was filled with fat chunks in both the beans and the tacos... Very unacceptable at any price!!! So to wrap it up I'd say it has potential and I will go back to try other menu items but they could definitely do better in multiple categories... Communication was a little sketchy but I'm a white dude from Waukegan so I can spanglish my way around that!!! 6.3/10
This place is like an upgraded taco bell, made from scratch. The tortillas shells and the salsa were good. The tacos we got were ok. We tried to order the asada tacos and they were out of steak, so I got the al pastor, and didn’t taste any pineapple. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were there, and would rather sit and talk with another customer instead of her do her job. We didn't get our water refilled, and we waited so long for our chips and salsa that we thought that we weren't getting chips. We then wait 15 minutes for the check while we watched her serve her friends not checking on us once in that 15 minutes. I was lured in by the positive reviews only to find the poor reviews more accurately reflect what you will expect from here. Very disappointing 40$ meal. Go somewhere else.
Delicious food and great experience at Pollo Bacano! Stopped by Pollo Bacano in Zion and it did NOT disappoint. The food was incredible from start to finish. The empanadas were amazing—perfectly golden, crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. Easily some of the best I’ve had. The tacos were also great, served fresh with well-seasoned meat, warm tortillas, and all the right toppings. The sides, including the rice and beans, were flavorful and made the plate feel complete. The restaurant itself has a bright, welcoming atmosphere, with beautiful hanging flowers and décor that gives it a fun, vibrant feel. My daughter loved it and was happily eating her empanada the whole time. Service was solid and friendly, and everything came out quickly. Overall, a fantastic spot for a family meal or a casual bite. We’ll definitely be returning! Highly recommend Pollo Bacano if you’re in the Zion area.
