See All ReviewsTried this local BBQ spot for the first time on Valentine’s Day for lunch with my husband and it did not disappoint! The brisket was super moist and flavorful, the ribs were perfectly fall-off-the-bone, and the baked beans and green beans were my favorite sides. We loved the cozy, local vibe, and the staff was so kind and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!
The BBQ spot I visited recently turned out to be a really solid experience overall. The place had a relaxed, welcoming vibe with that classic smoky aroma you expect as soon as you walk in. It wasn’t overly fancy, just simple and comfortable, which honestly felt perfect for a casual meal. I ordered a brisket plate with mac and cheese and baked beans. The brisket was the highlight—tender, juicy, and had a nice smoky flavor without being overwhelming. It had a good bark on the outside and didn’t need much sauce, which is always a good sign. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and the baked beans had a slightly sweet, smoky taste that paired well with the meat. The service was friendly and quick, and the portions were generous for the price. While it wasn’t the absolute best BBQ I’ve ever had, it was definitely satisfying and somewhere I’d happily go back to when I’m craving good, reliable barbecue.
We went to the new location that opened in Helotes. 1st off, service was outstanding! I ordered the baked chicken, Mac and cheese, green beans and cornbread. I'd say the chicken (while not dry), green beans and Mac and cheese could use a bit more seasoning of some sort. Cornbread was amazing. Some friends of mine had the pulled pork sandwich and sliced brisket. They said it was not dry, but also could use more seasoning. BBQ sauce was good, but very sweet. Price was a bit steep. I didn't get a drink because they are $4. I'm no chef, but I felt it needed something. I would still go back to try more menu items, but I'll have to wait for another payday 😅
