It's a nice spot. They're currently doing some construction so they don't have access to the majority of their property. I have been informed that in the next 3-5 months everything will be done, up and running. The food is fantastic. Pricing is about what you would expect for the area. Plates average at about $15 but the portions are hearty and the food quality is fantastic! Ambiance is cool. They have that rustic wood look going for them. It's a really nice place to check out.
This place is very inconsistent. Also, they forget part of your order as well. A lot of times when you go in there, or order for delivery items are not done and take over a few hours to be prepared because they're not ready. But the restaurant is open, and they don't tell you. Sometimes also the meat is very thick and very good quality. And other times the meat is very thin and horrible. I think they need to get their act together, and be more consistent with the quality, and the way they cook it, because I don't think they're consistent. I think if they can stay consistent with their quality, and the way they make their food. Then it would be a really good place. Because when it's done right, it's done really good, but majority of the time it's not done right. It's always a hit or a miss(majority of the time a miss), dining in or ordering for delivery via doordash.
Unfortunately, you can't give 0 stars. Can't even begin to explain my disappointment with this place. Went for lunch, and the place was empty. 45 minutes after placing our order, no food had arrived. When asked whether our food would be out soon, the waiters response was a very short "yes". 5 minutes later - our appetizers arrived (fried pickles which had not been fried). 10 min after that - one plate of uncooked, raw ribs was placed in front of my coworkers lap. Needless to say, we walked out. Worst part of the experience had to be the fact that the waiter was not at all courteous or empathetic to the situation. We ordered Papa Johns. Pride & Joy, just...no.
Great ribs! I had been twice and had great entrees! now it is fair to say that if you arrive early in the afternoon, you may not find everything in the menu as they smoke their pork and brisket the same day.
What a joke....We were very clear that we wanted to order immediately. 25 min after we placed our order the server came out to tell us that she was sorry but they were out of coconut shrimp. Oh, and out of fries. Really??? How can a restaurant that serves fries with 1/2 their menu items be out??? It took 25 minutes to figure that out?? So my hubs cancelled his order completely, leaving us with just 3 orders for them to fill. AN HOUR LATER.....we were served. I had 3 sliders - without the ingredients listed on the menu and 1 of them was ice cold! My son's order was messed up, his fries were cold and soggy. She eventually came back to refill our waters (after we asked) but she only had enough for 3 of our 4 glasses. She never came back to refill mine until I asked for more water when she brought the check. She only charged us for 2 of the 3 dishes we DID actually eat...but the effort to make our stay a pleasant one was weak. Will NOT be returning... :(
The worst dining experience I've had in about 5 years. We've eaten there many times and service has always been a major issue, but with friends and sitting outside it's tolerable. Today was unbelievably bad - two tables left before we did because they didn't get food. Our food never showed up and the waitress who explained to us that she just started and has never seen the menu tried to help, but she was unprofessional and had a manager who was rude, condescending, and the most unprofessional person I've encountered. He had no respect for his staff, customers or profession. Disgusting - avoid this place at all costs!!!
Just read they give you comp bread, I didn't get any. They had run out of anything pulled pork so I went with the country fried chicken with mash potatoes and veggies. It was real good. I will be back to try the pull pork stuff because I hear great things. Also, the service was real friendly and fast. I'm glad Pride and Joy is in the area because the food in the area is not all that great for what you pay like The Butcher Shop, which is a cool bar with crappy expensive food.
Unfortunately, Pride and Joy has lost its luster since my last visit. Once a homey place of delicious smokey aromas, things have deteriorated beyond comprehension. Menu has changed drastically, and the quality of the food has as well. It isn't inedible, but it isn't the home style, fresh, and flavorful meals everyone was used to. Not even entirely sure they have a smoker for the meats anymore. Restaurant was empty on recent visit and should have been a sign. Music was blaring, and while not always a bad thing, doesn't fit in to what Pride and Joy is or was. Service was lacking - Suzy was the only attentive one and did her best to accommodate and provide decent service when our original waitress bailed. You'll also be overpaying for what you receive between the food and service.
