This is our absolute go-to spot! Whether we are dining in or ordering takeout, the food is consistently authentic, delicious, and—most importantly—arrives piping hot every single time. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dine-in experience feel very welcoming. You must try the sour broth fish with pickled greens; it is the perfect balance of flavors. Truly a gem!
We went for dinner as a family of four. It was our first time trying Sichuan cuisine, and every dish was delicious, with a savory spiciness. The walnut and shrimp dish was especially tasty. All the dishes were plentiful and very satisfying. Our kids loved it too. I'd love to go back again if I wanted to eat Sichuan food. The restaurant's atmosphere and the staff's service were also wonderful.😊
An Absolute Hidden Gem – My New Favorite Spot! I rarely write long reviews, but QJ KITCHEN truly deserves all the praise. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly balances modern chic with a cozy vibe. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a romantic date night or a lively dinner with close friends. Now, let’s talk about the food – because it was spectacular. We started with the fresh chili fish which was bursting with fresh flavors. For the main course, the dry pot was cooked to perfection; the textures were spot on and every bite was a highlight. You can tell the chefs here really prioritize high-quality ingredients and authentic techniques. Even the presentation was like a work of art – definitely Instagram-worthy! The service was equally impressive. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, providing excellent recommendations that really enhanced our meal. It’s rare to find a place where the food, service, and ambiance all hit a 10/10, but QJ KITCHEN nailed it. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience that’s worth every penny, do yourself a favor and visit QJ KITCHEN. I’m already planning my next visit to try the rest of the menu!
We ordered 6 trays from here for our company Lunar New Year party and everything was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the food and we literally finished every last bite. Great quality, generous portions, and the pricing was very reasonable. Definitely a solid catering option — highly recommend!
We got together on Sunday at noon to celebrate a friend’s baptism. Since several families in our group are from Sichuan, we chose this restaurant. There were quite a lot of us, so we ordered almost all of the restaurant’s classic Sichuan dishes—and not a single dish disappointed. Everything was authentic and delicious. Highly recommended! If you love Sichuan food, this place is definitely worth a try 😋
Authentic and delicious Chinese food! Each dish we ordered was super delicious and the portions were big for the price. Highly recommend the stir fried chicken with dried chili! The chicken was very tender and there were no bones which made it so easy to chow down. The stir fried Chinese cabbage was also mouth numbingly delicious. I’ll definitely come back to try their fish dishes next time! This is truly a hidden gem!
This place is so good! I am a Chinese. This is very authentic Sichuan cuisine! I got the $99 combo with 5 dishes which all taste awesome. And the portion is generous. The Combo can easily feeds 4 people. So, tasty food and good value. And it seems they only opened for a year or something. The indoor setting looks new and clean.
Our family went here for New Year’s lunch, and it ended up being such a great find. I’ve lived in Lake Forest for over 10 years, and I honestly can’t believe I’m only just discovering such authentic Sichuan food. it’s clear they take traditional flavors seriously—bold, complex, and perfectly balanced between numbing peppercorn heat (麻) and deep chili spice (辣). Portion sizes are generous, ingredients taste fresh, and everything arrives hot and beautifully presented. Service is attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere is casual but comfortable—perfect for sharing plates with family or friends. Overall, this is a must-visit for anyone who loves real Sichuan food, not Americanized versions. Spicy, soulful, and deeply satisfying—I’ll definitely be back.
