See All ReviewsSpeaking as a longtime local hike leader, this trailhead is misnamed on Google maps. It's the Terrace Pond North-Bearfort Ridge Connector Trailhead (Quail Trailhead is down the hill by the jct, of Warwick Tpk & White Rd). You'll find many absolutely beautiful hikes from the TPN-BRC Trailhead. If you hike south toward Terrace Pond, take care crossing busy Warwick Tpk.
This is a hike for nature lovers, not for beginners or those uncomfortable with wild animals. You are very likely to encounter bear on this hike, be mindful of your surroundings in spring and fall. The trails near the bogs have a lot of large mosquitoes as well. It is an intensely rewarding hike if you love geology, unique ecosystems, rare fauna and flora.
Really nice hike with lots of evergreens and rhododendron. Pretty steep and challenging in places, but not that difficult.
