See All ReviewsFound a spot on google to quickly stop in for a late afternoon bite. Saw it was 4 stars, close by, and the menu had a variety we were looking for. Upon arriving, the exterior gave us pause. It’s a bit worn and there were no windows to give us look into the inside, no hint as to what we were walking in to. We decided to go in anyways. Walking in the bar, it had a few seats filled with people who seemed to be close friends. We first noticed it was a bit dark inside but filled with lots of decor to fit with the tiki theme. Interestingly enough there was a lot of Bills flags and signs that later made sense when we were told it was a Bills bar (no bad blood from us , even being from NE, go Pats). The people at the bar quickly identified themselves as regulars, speaking openly, cracking jokes, even offering us some shots. We all admit we may have taken them up on the offer, if we weren’t fresh off an airplane, deprived of sleep and proper food. We all ordered some food consisting of two burgers, potstickers, side salad, nachos, fried shrimp, and poutine. All of our food was great! Satisfied us. Only note is that the nachos were made with a veleeta cheese rather than shredded which my mom wasn’t a fan of. And the prices? Were straight out of the early 2000s. We thought it was a scam. Or that the food would be awful. But not at all the case! Just an good, honest owner, keeping the prices reasonable. After our positive food experience, we were more than happy to stick around and have a few extra drinks while we talked to the locals and got to know their stories, including the owners. We met some fun-loving, happy going people, who were simply there for a good time. And a good time they gave us. We enjoyed every minute we were in the Red Tiki bar. We heard a lot of good things about the outdoor area, which we didn’t get to see but would love to stop by and experience if we get the chance before we leave. If I can describe this bar in one way, it’s don’t judge a book by its cover. If your in the St Pete’s area and want a local spot to hear about all the local’s and their hidden hems of Florida, the red tiki bar is your place.
Good inexpensive food. Great drink and beer prices. Best dive bar around!
I went for a vacation and my uncle took me here. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful the bartender she was kind. I had a steak sandwich, fully loaded peppers, onions and a bag of potato chip and it's so cheap. I would definitely go back. I'm from New York City and I'm already missing the food from there and the people. They are so polite. I'm looking forward returning soon
