Food was amazing, very reasonable pricing, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend
Homemade good Mexican food and great service. Love the sweet tea.

I was visiting a friend in the area and we opted to find a place for lunch. We settled on this restaurant. I was able to park in front of the restaurant. Note there are about 6 parking spots in front, and many more behind the restaurant. We entered, and the wait staff motioned that it was open seating, and that we could sit anywhere. It was 95 degrees outside and noticeable warm inside the restaurant. Just noting it here because my friend remarked a couple of times that he was warm. I'm guessing the temp inside was between 80 - 82 degrees. Our server greeted us and spoke fluent English and Spanish. They brought us menus and took our drink order, which I ordered an unsweetened tea. They also brought chips and salsa to our table. I normally will order beef enchiladas. I did not see them on the menu and asked if they were available? Our server indicated that they could make them for me. My friend joining me for lunch, ordered the Asada street tacos. Our food was ready in a timely manner. Some additional hot sauces were also brought to the table, the red one being the one with a little bit of heat - noting here in the event you decide to visit and/or try the sauce. My enchiladas were tasty, and I suspect we're the Picadillo ingredients made into an enchiladas and smothered in cheese. Again, tasty. The accompanying rice and beans were OK. The Asada meat had some lining in it was I saw friend pull some pieces out of his mouth and set them to the side. He noted, the flavor was OK, just a little fatty. Overall, nice lively decor inside, a tad warm, and food that was OK, but in my opinion overpriced for the amount and type of food ordered. Service was excellent. I had a good experience, but would visit again only to confirm my assessment in this review. I'm sure the place gets lively because of the decor and appearance.
Very clean and process are good. I took my little granddaughter to eat and it came out to$15. Sige had child's enchilada plate and me 2 potato and egg and coffee. I enjoyed our time together.
They are not even serving homemade tortillas 😭 and the tacos are so small they hardly give you meat in your tacos as you can see in the pictures. I don't remember it ever being like this. We moved to Louisiana came down for a for a visit wanted tacos paid 70$ for tacos that we're not even worth it.
Overall, after many unrelated restaurant interruptions, the ladies working this morning were very nice and understanding. The breakfast and lunch specials are reasonably priced and the food is stacked on and plentiful. I took some food to go to share with friends and family. I appreciate great service and this morning these ladies went above and beyond. I wasn't able to take photos of my food today due to extenuating circumstances, but it just gives me more reason to return now. So a return visit is already in the works. Oh, and the Huevos Rancheros breakfast plate special was Super loaded with food and there was a huge surprise when I cut into my eggs, A CRISPY CORN TORTILLA!!! WHAT?? SO AWESOME AND UNEXPECTED!! Come out and give it a try. You will not be sorry you did. Great neighborhood place to grab a bite, and the coffee was tasty and not watered down. And masks are required and social distancing is in effect. Tables are also spaced out and closes off for this purpose. Thanks La Cocina!!
Best "Lil" Mexican Restaurant in San Antonio. Huevos Rancheros on that crispy corn tortilla, omg to die for! Well worth the waiting time. Excellent service!
