Going to second what's already been said here, but what a great spot to stop on the way from Houston to Dallas. The location is a little odd and wasn't sure when pulling up from the outside but what a lovely restaurant! Great food, great service and clearly a favorite for locals in the area.
Do not be deceived by the size or look of this small town eatery - it’s absolutely fantastic. Just like the cafe in my little hometown! I got the chicken fried steak sandwich and a side of onion rings. The bun was super fresh, the steak flavorful and tender, and the onion rings? Best hand-battered sweet rings I’ve had in the whole darn state. We will never drive by Rice without stopping here. I only wish we had discovered it sooner.
What a cuuute little diner with big flavor! The food was great! I got the veggie omelette and let me tell you, the veggies were plentiful!! I’m use to going to places where there’s more egg. Seems like a great little place for regulars, hearing the chatter among the guest what an absolute joy. Will definitely come back. As a heads up…cash pay and tips is preferred 🩷🩷
