Paid 44$ for a nasty grenadine CHUNKED tequila sunrise and I asked for a shot of bottom shelf tequila, they gave me Don Julio instead. Then made me pay for it since the bartender “already poured it”… don’t get drinks here, pregame hard before coming to any event or party here.
This was my first experience here came on an invite to watch a performance by "THE ARTIST" which was excellent arrived on stage about quarter after 12am doors opened at 10pm even though flyers said doors opens at 9pm-2am. which I arrived at 9:06pm but I was patient and stayed till 1:45am after the Artist performance...there security was alil loose that night seemed like it was a special event by a new establishment called "THE PLAYGROUND" so maybe communication was not clear on staffing from what I heard& witnessed that night..the space was decent music/DJs was great good vibes all night..now waitress staff was horrible not once did i get asked if I needed a drink or anything as the passed me several times throughout the night nor did they when they sat or approached other guest sitting on both sides of me which I thought was rude/unprofessional/different experience for me....overall good night and it was decent plenty crowd after 11pm. I never ate nor drank anything so I can not give my view on that parking on weekends are free but slim may have to park elsewhere or get dropped off....
On Halloween night, Richmond live threw a monster ball they said to buy the tickets on eventbrite. When we saw the flyer and the description on Eventbrite, it said we would get three floors and four DJs. They lied in their description they said that each floor would have a different genre of music, they lied about their hookah prices and their drink prices. In the description it says that drinks were gonna be from 5 to 9 dollars during Power hour 10 to 11. They lied about the $25 hookahs. The event was supposed to start at 10 nothing was set up on time they were late setting up the event. We ended up paying regular club prices for the drinks and the hookah. Service was very poor, Very rude staff. They were charging top price for bottom shelf, liquor only 10 bottles no beer is like somebody told one of their staff to go to the ABC store and grab whatever they could find. The furniture was made out of hardwood the tables look like they were gonna fall apart at any moment The bathrooms are DISGUSTING . They had a janitor that wasn’t cleaning up. No tissue in the bathroom toilets did not flush. And they’re serving liquor with no food DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
went for their opening night for fiesta Friday, I loved the vibe !! The only problem we’re the bartenders. I asked for 5 shots of patron & the bartender told me it was gonna be $85. Never have I ever been somewhere where shots were that expensive in rva. So I tell her. I’ll do $20 in cash and rest on card. I was charged $42 in card. I still left a $10 tip. When I do the math though that only adds up to $62 for the 5 shots… when she had told me it was gonna be $85. So definitely just do be aware when buying drinks cause they add in their own tip & one of them actually even asked my friend why they weren’t leaving her a tip when he paid basically $50 for a bucket of beers… when they were advertised for $30
Went to their paint and dance event, the atmosphere and djs were great! The drinks were good too, bartenders were on point! The only complaint I have is there wasn't enough food. So, it's a first come first serve for free wings; which they had 2 trays for about 75-100 people. Then after that you pay for your own food. Overall enjoyed me and my friend had a good time!
Nice venue for live events. Food was pretty good as well.
My friend and I thought we would support this restaurant during Richmond Black Restaurant Experience week #rbre19. When we entered the restaurant all the tables were taken and no one acknowledged that we were there. We stood at the bar for about five minutes until I went to the end of the bar and asked an employee do we seat ourselves. Her response “yes and we will be with you shortly.” Now mind you she was the only one waiting on the other customers along with another young lady that was working the bar. So finally after about 10 min a table became available, was cleaned by staff and we sat ourselves. Shortly after we sat down the young lady from the bar came over and took our drink orders and returned to take our food order. The drinks were great! She mentioned they were short staffed which was obvious. We had to wait another 30 minutes before we received our food. We had the crab dip appetizer which was excellent! Our main meals were good as well. I recommend this restaurant work on customer service and greeting their customers as they enter the restaurant and not have them standing in limbo looking crazy. That’s why I rated 3 stars.
3.5 Obviously not gonna be harsh here as its still in soft launch. We were walking down our usual path nd saw the board open for lunch and tried it. We were the only ones having lunch at the time. Service was pleasant and greetings were good. Its a dance club and ambience lighting suits very well, looks fancy. We ordered veggie burger, we liked the taste but putting broccoli in burger is fine; but i would prefer it binded or in a patty rather veggies lying around. Chicken and shrimp quesadillas tastes good; but has lots of grease, also may be need to add little more cheese so it food binds rather than falling apart. Waffles and chicken were on the expensive side. Also there is no maple syrup. Overall lunch potentially could attract more employees who work around if they could drop prices a but and add more varieties.
