See All ReviewsI really wanted to like this place and everything was going well until it wasn't. I got a Frisco melt and fries and my girlfriend got an Italian beef sandwich and onion rings. The food is excellent. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted great. When the bill came we saw that we got charged $1.50 for the peppers on her sandwich and $1 for the cheese. The add on stuff listed on the menu is under the burger section so when she asked if we wanted peppers and cheese we thought it would come with it since dry beef on bread wouldn't be very good and 99.999% of anywhere else that sells Italian beef gives you that stuff for free since that's generally part of the sandwich but some people don't like peppers. The default is to come with it. Plus no mention of aus jus. Plus a dollar and a half for a handful of pepper rings?? This is the level of nickel and dime BS and obfuscating what the menu says vs what it means that makes people not want to go out to eat. Add to that the $2.50 upcharge for a side (3.50 for the onion rings) and the $3.50 coke and we were looking at near $50 for a sandwich, fries/rings and drink for the both of us before tip. That's insane. Plus the debit card surcharge. No thanks. One and done. Shame too because the good was good.
They never get the food right any time. Rude employees
Roch's Place is a great little family-friendly sports bar in a small town east of Urbana. The food and service were great, and the atmosphere was lively but sometimes a little loud for its older customers. Definitely recommended.
