See All ReviewsThis was the fourth time I've been here and I must say, of all the Mexican food restaurants in our area, this place is the best. Their red sauce is nothing like I've ever tasted, I could drink the stuff. 5 plus stars! If you haven't tried it, do, you won't regret.
My husband and I decided to try Rodeos after hearing great things about it. We’ve tried just about every Mexican restaurant in Powhatan, and most of them have been really good, so we were excited to add this one to the list. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The chips were bland, the salsa had almost no flavor, and the cheese dip was also very bland. I ordered the carnitas burrito, and it was mostly filled with fat with only a couple of small pieces of actual meat. I did mention it to our server, but it was basically brushed off. She was very nice and the staff were friendly, so the service itself wasn’t the problem. The food just didn’t match the reputation we’d heard about. We went in excited to try it, but left pretty disappointed.
For the $$ you will get more than your fill & some to take home. This lil eatery has been open for several months. The waitress I had was wonderful, with my broken Spanish trying to be polite, she made sure I had plenty of water, she kept checking on me. They were quite busy the night I was there. The food was wonderful also, now I dont have to drive into Richmond for my Latino food cravings!!! I ordered multi food plates to get an idea of how good the food was/is. DEF GOING BACK...when I have time.
