The curry taste like boiled chicken in curry powder.Fish sandwich was just tasteless. The Mac and cheese was dry with no cheese or seasoning. The owners were nice though.
If you’re in search of authentic Jamaican cuisine, I recommend sticking with your local neighborhood Jamaican restaurant. My first visit to this establishment left me disappointed, and I likely won't be returning. I ordered the jerk wings, which, while having a decent level of spice, were unfortunately dry and over-fried. The mac and cheese was mediocre, with my girlfriend even noting it could use a bit more salt for flavor enhancement. I also ordered rice and peas, but to my surprise, I received plain white rice instead. I double-checked my order, and the receipt clearly indicated "Rice & Peas." When I called to inquire, I was informed that they no longer serve rice and peas, which would have been helpful to know at the time of ordering. Overall, my experience was disappointing. Transparency about menu changes would have gone a long way in improving customer satisfaction.
This is a hidden gem hiding in plain sight. The food was absolutely delicious, and I can not stop telling people about the depth of flavor. Jerk wings, curry wings, oxtail with collard greens, mac and cheese, and Rasta pasta all 10/10. The staff were warm and welcoming. We felt like we were eating at a relative’s home. It seems “hidden” because we never realized there was a restaurant inside. Even when the kind host invited us in months ago, it looked like a catering space that one would rent before entering.
Just had a great meal! Ordered the jerk wing platter with sautéed veggies and mac and cheese. Portions were generous. The wings were so tender, meat just fell off the bone. Mac and cheese and veggies were fresh, so good! Customer service was also fantastic. 10/10, would recommend.
The food and service was great! You definitely get generous sized portions, the woman who took my order was so sweet! Will definitely be eating here again! I got 2 platters and mac n cheese......we still had a platter full after we ate!
Figs and goat cheese fish tacos. plantains and fish . Caribian rub Ribeye steak. Omg this place is to die for everything seasoned perfectly . My girlfriend and I both loved it . A perfect night. Thank you.
Roxborough lacks variety when it comes to food however, it’s such a delight to have this black owned bistro added to the community! I ordered the salmon entree and substituted the rice and broccoli for spinach and green beans with a side of cornbread. The salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly, the green beans had a crispness to them that was quite wonderful, the spinach had just the right amount of seasoning, and the cornbread had a bit of a sweetness to it. You can tell they use only the freshest ingredients and the chef cooks with love and care. I ordered take out and my food was ready at the time stated(25mins). Customer service was warm and informative. The space was clean and nicely decorated. I can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Well Done!! Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere. Owners and staff very professional. Everyone was very welcoming and not to mention the food was hot and delicious!!
