2 months agoIf I could give below a 1-star I would. The disorganization in this place is beyond apalling, and for a first time experience here, mine was bad. Ordered online and didn't receive food in 1.5 hours and they kept telling to wait. I had a sick child in the car and needed to leave after such a long wait. I asked for order to be canceled and a refund issued and they were confused on my request. Eventually someone figured out how to cancel and I had to speak to someone else on the phone. Absolute mess of a place. Avoid and save your money for some other place.

2 months agoI visited Saigon 512 restaurant last Sunday and had a really nice experience. I ordered banh xeo, banh khot, pho, and bun bo Hue. The staff who took my order was very sweet and friendly. Although the food came out a bit slowly, she kindly explained the reason, which I really appreciated. The highlight for me was definitely the pho — it was absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely come back to try more dishes.

11 months agoSaigon512 is hands down one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Austin! The food is fresh, flavorful, and always hits the spot. What really makes this place special is the owner and staff—they are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and treat you like family. You can tell they care about their food and their customers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Vietnamese food with amazing service!

a year ago1000/10 Definitely visit! Authentic Vietnamese food! Loved everything we ordered. They have so many dishes that are hard for me to find elsewhere. Definitely recommend. Ca Kho (caramelized catfish) was a table favorite! Service was exceptional, I was pumping (as a new mom with a newborn) and the waiter gave me a container with ice and water to put the bottle in to keep it cold. Very attentive service. The Vietnamese coffee is great, nice strong and sweet!

a year agoThis is our go-to Vietnamese restaurant for Round Rock. The pork and shrimp spring rolls are delicious and equally portioned. I love the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. My wife always gets the pho. One great thing I can appreciate about this business is that they won't turn away customers that show up thirty minutes before closing (unlike another Vietnamese restaurant 8 miles north of here). Great customer service!

a year agoWe heard about this for some while, and last Tuesday we went but realised it’s closed on Tuesdays 😅😅 Then we went again on another day and it all worth it! The soup is special with basil flavour and tasteful. Big portion so we just kept on eat and eat without talking 🤣🤣🤣 Love this.

a year agoWe drove 30 min out to try this restaurant and unfortunately it was not worth the drive and we would not come back. We are able to communicate in Vietnamese so language was not a barrier, but when we asked which dish is popular (their menu is quite large), our waitress simply told us that “people order everything” and appeared cold. The food is very average, but considering Austin’s lack of Vietnamese food, it’s not terrible if you have a viet food craving and you live nearby. The banh cuon was very average. The rice wrap was a bit thick and the sautéed pork was a bit bland. It is odd that spoons are not provided for the nuoc mam; we had to grab our own to avoid nuoc mam spilling everywhere. We ordered the small banh xeo but were given the banh khot instead. When we addressed we error, the waitress was more concerned about figuring out who made this error instead of fixing it and providing decent customer service. It felt a bit like a toxic work environment from the perspective of the customer. Additionally, when our check came in they charged us for all 3 orders when we only ordered 2. The waitress seemed fussed and rude when we pointed this out. Although the small banh xeo wasn’t bad, it is just not worth returning even though we would’ve liked to try other dishes due to the disorganization and customer service we received. I’d definitely rather cook at home or make a drive out to Houston than do this 30 min drive again to experience this again.

Edited a month agoHonestly, IMO, there are only a handful of places in Austin that make really good authentic Vietnamese food and this is definitely one of them. OK tonight we feasted bc its Father's day and they did not disappoint on the food. The Customer service was really good. I'll start out with the Pho Dac Biet (combo), it was pretty good just short of really good. The beef flavor was not quite there for me but everything you get in the bowl nails it, you will eat and be satisfied. Its been a while since ive been here and the food still tastes great. I had the banh kot which was so tasty, I could have eaten 2 more plates!! The Shaken beef was a tad bit more than bite sized, so it was a bit difficult to eat but the it was soft and tender enough to eat without a knife. It was really tasty and good. Folks should definitely give these dishes a try.
