4 months agoFood was hot and delicious :) me and my mom have trouble finding good soul food spots in West Philly , but this place is a must try !.. We both got the fried fish, mac and cheese , yams and greens … So Yummy :)

4 months agoI was very disappointed with my experience here and felt like it was a waste of money. Finding the location was confusing. You pull up to what looks like a school with small signs that “direct” you, but there’s no clear guidance on exactly where to go. When I arrived, I only saw one person in the kitchen. I didn’t wait too long for the food, but unfortunately the food itself did not meet expectations. The mac and cheese was cheesy but completely unseasoned. The fish was soft and not crispy at all. The yams tasted like they came straight from a can. I ordered another platter as well. The mac and cheese on that one tasted slightly more edible. The sweet chili shrimp and rice was actually good, but the collard greens were not. The cornbread could have been sweeter. Overall, I wouldn’t return because I’ve had much better food elsewhere for the price.

5 months agoSamaiyah B. Cooking catered the American food for my wedding, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience! The food was absolutely phenomenal, so delicious that all of our guests were raving about it throughout the night. I had enjoyed Samaiyah’s food before, so when I found out she did catering, I knew I had to have her for my wedding. From the very beginning, she was incredibly professional and efficient. She responded promptly to all my emails, provided clear pricing information, and even offered to arrange a tasting (which I didn’t need since I was already familiar with how amazing her food is!). On the day of the wedding, Samaiyah and her team were right on time and completely professional. The food display was beautiful, and the quality was outstanding. What really stood out was her attentiveness, she checked in with me during the reception to ask if guests could have seconds and made sure everything was going smoothly. The setup and breakdown were handled seamlessly and efficiently by her team. Everything was taken care of in a timely manner, which allowed me to actually enjoy my special day without any stress. If you’re looking for a caterer who delivers both exceptional food quality and outstanding service, I highly recommend Samaiyah B. Cooking. She and her team went above and beyond to make our wedding memorable!

10 months agoOrdered through DoorDash, and got burnt Salmon. My whole thing is if you wouldn’t eat it why send it to someone, it’s dry as hell and just a waste of time and money. Not giving them another try tired of Black businesses not doing right to our own people

10 months agoSamaiyah B cooking is one of the few people I trust when it comes to soul food in the city! I’ve tried it several times, and she has been my best recommendation for clients that are looking for catering. Her food, care for her customers, and service is unmatched, whether it’s a personal order or catering order- You won’t ever regret ordering from her! 💜

10 months agoI have had the pleasure of having this young ladies food because Her Father Gave out me on.... and Well ,all I can say is she is,WOW.. SHE'S legit as is the food. There was nothing that I tasted that I did not like and like is definitely an understatement. I loved everything! She's warm , inviting, real, genuine and down to earth and you can tell she loves what she does and especially with her family involved, It comes out so much more in the food. You have definitely got to try her food, You will NOT be disappointed. My favorites are the beef ribs, candied yams, the mac and cheese, Cabbage, and well like I said, everything lol NEED this food In My Life again!

10 months agoIt’s a welcoming environment. The staff is very friendly, and the food is great. The yams have all the right ingredients. The Mac and cheese is amazing, and the cream of spinach is to die for!! Hands down the bed ribs are the best!!

10 months agoWe had curry chicken catered for my daughter’s trunk party and it was AMAZING!!! It was full of flavor, the chicken was tender and juicy, it was seasoned perfectly and had the carrots and potatoes in it.. Samaiyah B NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! I don’t have any pics because obviously we tore it up lol.. but seriously, if your hesitant about ordering, I promise u won’t regret it ❤️
