The Samuel Sharpe DFAC is a study in frustration. The facility prioritizes rigid oversight and arbitrary protocol over the quality of the service or the food provided, making for a demoralizing dining experience. The Atmosphere The environment is dominated by unnecessary and restrictive rules that turn a basic meal into a stressful event. Between being required to keep your heels together while waiting and the mandatory "tray on the food" positioning, the atmosphere feels more like a formal inspection than a break. These strict military-style dining requirements are exhausting and unnecessary for a simple meal. Culinary Quality The food quality is consistently poor, which is particularly difficult given the physical demands on those eating here. The Best Case Scenario: Breakfast is the only meal that is even remotely acceptable. While it is the highlight of the day, it still lacks variety and often looks uninspired. The Standard Experience: Lunch and dinner are consistently disappointing. The flavors are non-existent, and the textures are often unappealing. Whether it’s dry proteins under questionable sauces or wilted greens, the meals are rarely satisfying. Visual Reality: As the tray photos show, the presentation is lackluster. It is a gamble every time you walk through the door, and the odds are never in your favor—out of every 10 visits, expect 9 of them to be a total letdown. The Trainee Dilemma The most frustrating aspect is the lack of alternatives. For Ordnance AIT trainees, this is the only choice for meals during the weekdays. Being forced to adhere to such high-stress rules for such low-quality food without any other options makes the daily routine much more difficult than it needs to be. Final Verdict The unnecessary "military rules for eating" combined with the subpar food make this a taxing facility to visit. The effort required to follow the rigid protocols simply isn't worth the low-quality meal you receive in return, yet for many, there is no other option. 1/10—A mandatory disappointment for those in training.
I think they need to fire the southern company stuff or whatever. This is the worst DFAC in any army base. They always have shortage of food and some of the ladies are rude. There was a time we didn’t have anything to drink. They need to level up!!!
Fire southern food blacklist those employees that are the clear problems.
