See All ReviewsI'd been wanting to try Sanctuary for a while and my brother suggested we pop over today after spending the morning at an art market. It did not disappoint. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside to enjoy the weather. They only serve tacos, so only come by if you definitely want tacos. But I want tacos most of the time so that worked just fine for me. The pork wasn't ready yet so I got one chicken and one black bean taco. They are stuffed FULL as you can see, and they aren't just stuffed with veggies. They go heavy on the protein as well. The flavor of the chicken was fantastic. I can't wait to come back to try the pork, and I'd love to try and make it on a shrimp night too, which is only a few nights a week. The service was also fantastic. Friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. I'd give it ten stars if I could.
We could eat outside under the sun it was very pleasant. The only thing is that the price adds up quickly for eating tacos. Also 2.25 for a super small coleslaw salad is a lot. But we enjoyed our quiet lunch !
Sanctuary isn’t just a taco bar it’s Norfolk’s flavor playground! One bite of their chicken bbq and beef tacos and you’ll understand why locals call it a hidden gem. Between the eclectic art on the walls and the art in their plates, this place proves that tacos can be both delicious and downright inspiring. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe even with a painting under your arm. Fantastic tacos, cool attentive staff and interesting atmosphere!
