11 months agoShanghai Kitchen – Perth Amboy, NJ Shanghai Kitchen is a no-frills Chinese takeout spot in Perth Amboy, NJ, run by hardworking and friendly people. It’s one of my go-to places whenever I’m craving classic Chinese-American comfort food. My regular order is their Singapore Mei Fun, and it never disappoints. The noodles are flavorful and perfectly stir-fried with curry, loaded with vegetables, meats, and plump shrimp—a top-notch dish that always hits the spot. I pair it with two egg rolls, which are crispy, tasty, and never greasy. One thing that makes Shanghai Kitchen stand out is their fried plantains served with fried chicken—a delicious, unexpected twist that brings a touch of Caribbean flavor to the menu. While I haven’t explored the full menu yet, their lunch specials and combination platters offer great value and generous portions. There’s plenty of parking, making it easy and convenient to stop by and pick up a satisfying meal. It’s a modest neighborhood gem, but the food speaks for itself—flavorful, consistent, and made with care.

a year agoThis place will always have a special place in my heart. I still remember the very first time I had food here; I was just a kid. My mom had ordered beef and broccoli with white rice, and I was one of those kids who didn’t like vegetables at all. But she gave me some of the meat and broccoli, and I still remember how good it tasted. That one bite literally changed me. I told her I loved broccoli after that, and the next day, she bought me a whole bag of broccoli at home and I actually ate it, just because it reminded me of how delicious it was at this restaurant. To this day, I accredit that moment to why I’m not a picky eater. The food here is truly that good. Their special house fried rice is another dish that never disappoints, packed with flavor, fresh, and always satisfying. Now as an adult, I still come here regularly, and almost two decades later, the quality has never changed. The food, the flavors, the consistency, unmatched. This place is an absolute gem and will always be one of my favorites. Today, I felt a need for a little comfort food and got my favorite rice. The house special.

a year agoMust be a new group of people working the lady that answers the phone is rude, and doesn’t care about her customers my order was 44 dollars I added 3 eggroll and she charged me 10 extra dollars for it I order a lunch special that should come with soda got 3 she charged me more… she told me you get no soda with lunch special you get no egg roll with lunch special, you already getting a discount…. Total in all I paid 20 dollars more from 44 to 64 what a Scam

To all the people who constantly visit this place; it’s always clean, super fast and Food always taste good Don’t forget to pick up your homemade ice tea you won’t be disappointed, chicken broccoli and chicken in garlic sauce are My two favorite. There is always plenty parking, people always use the fire lane to park and pick up their food.
