a month agoI love stopping at small business and enjoying a simple bite of food as if I was home at my kitchen table. At Shelly's, we had two choices. The catfish entre or the grilled burger. We both choice the breaded fish that came hushpuppies, and a choice of beans and/or coleslaw, and cake for desert. The portions were generous and we walked away satisfied.

a month agoThis place is fantastic! Do not miss out on eating here. It's a home cooked meal ready to eat. Want to know what's in the menu? It's different day to day. You'll have to look it up on Facebook (Shellys Cafe LLC). Food is delicious! We met Shelly and Misty. They're are wonderful people.

a month agoMs. Shelly and her entire staff were super friendly and very accommodating the entire time. The food? Boy have I missed home cooked meals. The cheesy potato’s, sweet rice, fried porch chip, and cornbread made me want to take the biggest nap ever. The star of the show might have been the cake though. 10/10 food. 12/10 people.

4 months agoIt may be off the beaten path and a little hole in the wall, but talk about great food and some of the best customer service during our travels. It is cafeteria style and they have different items each day of the week I believe. Shelly herself came and talked to us at our table. Her sister was also very helpful. What a blessing during our trip. Glad we went off the road and decided to search for somewhere to eat in this small town. Not disappointed. We WILL return during one of our travels!

6 months agoThis place was excellent. We were just passing through and honestly didn’t have high expectations. They only had one meal to choose from but every single thing on the plate down to the dessert was delicious. Super impressed and we will stop by again as we travel this route often. The staff was very nice as well.

6 months agoWe arrived just before closing on a Sunday with a dog and two young kids whilst on a long road trip. The team were really friendly, helpful, and accommodating despite it being the end of their day and really went the extra mile to make sure we were all comfortable. The food was also delicious home cooking, lots of it and good value for money. Is well worth a stop if you are passing through.

7 months agoThis a great home cooking restaurant that offers up a very satisfying and tasty meal for an extremely reasonable price. A different meal special is served each day and includes a potato dish, a roll, a vegetable, a dessert and a drink. I happened to be passing through Vernon on a road trip a little after the lunch rush hour ans was able to enjoy a great meal in about twenty minutes total time from entry to exit.
