2 weeks agoTop tier watering hole with friendly, hilarious staff. You can get a mug with your name on it hung on the ceiling just like Showdown in Fort Worth but they aren’t related. Food is surprisingly killer with my favorite being the hunter burger. The border war is cool for the novelty, but trust me, get the hunter burger. Pool tables, cold beers, good food.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and energetic, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The interior was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, creating a setting that felt both modern and relaxed. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, and it was difficult to decide because everything sounded so appealing. I ordered a few popular items, and each dish arrived fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The ingredients tasted high quality, and every bite reflected the care and attention that goes into the preparation. The service was another standout part of my visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure every guest had a pleasant experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful suggestions, and checked in regularly without being overbearing. The portion sizes were generous and provided excellent value for the price. It’s refreshing to find a place where both quality and quantity are given equal importance. What impressed me most was the consistency across every aspect of the visit. From the welcoming environment to the delicious food and professional service, everything exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Showdown V to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with flavorful food, generous portions, and outstanding hospitality. 2 months agoAll my years as a student, I rarely heard anything about Showdown. But after 5 years of living in the area… my-oh-my, the burger and hashbrowns might be the best burger and hash I’ve ever had in my life. I wish im exaggerating, but after crowning myself as a critic, this definitely checks all my boxes. I can’t describe more or readers will think I’m crazy, but if you’re in town, definitely oh definitely come here to get their heaven-sent smash burgers. Wings were perfectly seasoned and cooked too; though not a ranch guy, the ranch is also immensely better than Wingstop’s. God bless Showdown, I will definitely come back.

3 months agoThere are two bars for local townies to go to in San Marcos, people go to zelicks to be seen, people go to showdown to get away. Showdown is by far my favorite of the two. It’s not a social club it’s the local watering hole. And it has hands down the best burger In. Two lonestars, a greasy burger and hash browns before a jump in the river and the most aggressive hangover is gone! Never ever change showdown!

3 months agoDrinks are solid. Nachos are awesome. Service was great. It's just a really good bar. Need to come try the burger. I hear it's great too.

a year agoWent to Tap Room and the girl wouldn’t take my order so ended up over here where I was instantly swarmed with amazing service from Christina. She made me feel like family and really knows how to run a bar. Burger was amazing as usual and their new fries are killer.

a year agoGreat hamburger served with Hashbrowns...great vibe,order at the bar...dog friendly outside on a street patio. Hard to find parking... ADA wheelchair accessible. Photos included.
