We went there tonight for dinner. It was a slow night. We got take out. We ordered the front porch salmon with green beans and Mac and chz. The salmon literally had nooooo seasoning or glaze on it. (Supposed to have a sweet tea glaze) it was so bland and also over cooked. It was a very small piece of salmon too. The Mac and cheese was so bland as well. Absolutely no flavor. I have no idea how the green beans were because they just decided to substitute my green beans with street corn without even asking or informing us until we got there to pay and pick it up. But the corn; thankfully, was actually good. We also got the wake and bacon cheeseburger with fries, the fries were I guess over cooked or something they were chewy and dark brown. The burger also had no flavor so it was bland as well. The egg was not cooked over easy as the yolk was cooked not runny at all. Needless to say we will never eat here again. Waste of $50! I can see why they are never busy. Hopefully they get it together soon because it looked like a decent place to eat. But sadly it wasn't. (I had already taken a few bites of the salmon in the pictures)
Restaurant closed at 3pm on Sundays, we arrived at 2:35, doors were locked. Tried both doors and a young lady saw my wife and I and opened the door. I asked if they were closed and she kinda smiled and she said, not really. I said we could go somewhere else if she wanted us to. She said no, it would be okay. She showed us to a table. Ordered a Simple Cheeseburger, asked if I get onion rings to replace fries "I'm a diabetic", didn't have onion rings. Received our food, food was great. Waitress was great, enjoyed the meal, but we could both eaten at Mama Ruth's for the price of one.
Service is a bit slow, but let me tell you; it is worth the wait. This place has a great beer selection, and the food is FANTASTIC 🤤. Had the hangover fries, and the Double Twist Cheeseburger. Everything was amazing. This food is legit!
So sad to post this but there is some real improvement needed at this location. Clearly, not all Simple Twist locations are created equal. Firstly, they were out of several key items on the menu but we were the first ones in the door as they opened. The fried green tomatoes- super bland, dry and the cornmeal tasted like it was stale. The kids menus didn’t have the national standard fried chicken tenders, so we selected the grilled option but one breast was barely cooked (questionable) and the other was burnt. Still absolutely no flavor, tasted like a hospital meal. The fried chicken sandwich- good but wow! Tiny, like imagine a Mac Donald’s kids happy meal hamburger Patty small….. The Cuban sandwich- not on sourdough or standard Cuban bread like other locations, the meat tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for several days, stale and bland. In my opinion they need better kitchen staff and quality control. They likely need someone that knows how to order better as well so that they don’t run out of food. If we were the first in the door, there is no reason any of our food should have been anything other than piping hot and fresh.
I walked in yesterday to have lunch. I found the staff to be very pleasant and friendly. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich which was delicious. I just wished the piece of chicken was a little bigger for the price I paid. The bartender was very friendly and my order was accurate. The french fries could have been a little crispier but I will definitely go back and try other dishes.
Food kinda bland, took thirty minutes to receive meals. Staff friendly and atmosphere welcoming. Prices a bit steep, $15 for burger, $10 for salad.
This place just opened and we got there on day 4, staff was friendly and helpful. Wasn't busy when we were seated but filled up quickly. Food service was disappointing. Both plates were incorrect and had to be returned. Mine came back quickly but wife's was more the 20 min just to add that cup of Mac and cheese. We were not in a hurry and we understand they just opened so I'll be back after they get some time to get everything organized.
Convinced my coworkers to try this place for lunch. First mistake was thinking we would have time to eat here. Place wasnt busy, we sat down right away and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. But it took 25 min to get 3 burgers w fries. We ordered a medium well plain with cheese onions and mayo, a medium all the way and a medium rare all the way. All of our burgers were medium well and our fries were warm and soggy like they'd been sitting. The plain burger had no onions. By the time the food came we didn't want anything fixed and just ate it. At this point we had 15 min to eat, pay and get back to work. At 20 bucks a piece after drink and tip, we were pretty disappointed. The restaurant also wasn't as private or as nice as I expected based on the menu and pricing. The big long bench seat is not my cup of tea. Felt like we were dining with the group beside us. The atmosphere in general is lacking. The seats are not comfy, especially the bench. Unfortunately, for 20 bucks with only an hour to spare there are better lunch options... I really hoped to add this place to our lunch rotation because the menu looks good, even for the price. But after this experience, we won't be back.
