Great food great service was sad to hear the Merkel location was closing may God bless whatever is next for the owner and his family look forward to trying their other locations
It’s a hole in the wall! But it’s worth the trip for sure! We came to Merkel for a Going Home our coC preacher recommended and he was not wrong! We drove out of our way to eat there a 2nd time before flying out of DFW IAP the smothered chicken was as perfect as the first time. We are visiting again in a few months & SKEET’s is on the itinerary! Have had the pleasure of eating meals from all of the country & world - the food is worth a 2nd, 3rd go! Isn’t that right Bro. Dave! LOVE OUR HOLES IN THE WALL!
Skeet’s is your typical small town, family owned, diner that you love to go to. We try to go at least twice a month. There are plenty of options on the menu, from appetizers, hamburgers, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, and anything else you might expect to find in your typical fantastic hole in the wall Café. The chicken Fried steak is always a favorite at the table. The dining room room is certainly nothing special, but the service and food are always great. I definitely recommend you give Skeet’s a try!
