My first visit to South One Eatery was such a pleasant experience overall. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. The young lady who assisted us (she had very short hair, and I wish I had gotten her name) provided truly exceptional service. She took her time breaking down the menu for us, explained how their daily specials work (which consistently change), and made sure we felt comfortable with our choices. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about the customer experience, and she absolutely did. The location is also a huge plus — it’s very close to home, which makes it convenient and easy to visit again. Another thing I really appreciate is that the food is made fresh. I don’t mind waiting a little longer when I know my meal isn’t sitting under a warmer. Fresh food makes all the difference, and you can taste it. Everything we ordered was very affordable and well within budget, which makes it even more appealing for repeat visits. I ordered the lemon pepper wings, and while they were cooked perfectly — great crunch, great texture, and overall great flavor — they tasted more like the original flavor rather than lemon pepper. Since lemon pepper costs an additional $1.50 for the sauce, I was hoping for a more noticeable seasoning profile. That’s honestly the only reason for my four-star rating. The wings themselves were still delicious — just not quite the lemon pepper flavor I expected. For drinks, we ordered the homemade iced tea and fruit punch, and I highly recommend both. They weren’t overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The sweetness level was just right — enjoyable without being overpowering. I was even able to dilute mine slightly to stretch it to my preference without losing the flavor. Now let’s talk about dessert — absolutely delicious. We ordered their special pound cake and cheesecake topped with strawberry drizzle, and both were amazing. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. I would definitely order them again without hesitation. Overall, South One Eatery delivered fresh, affordable food with outstanding service. Aside from the lemon pepper seasoning mix-up, everything was great — the taste, the crunch, the freshness, and the drinks and desserts. I’m really looking forward to going back to try more menu items and exploring those rotating daily specials.

First time having fish from here. It was very good, 10 out 10 highly recommend. South One Eatery is a blessing to the south side. Great food, service, and price.
