See All ReviewsDisorganised kitchen - meal took over half an hour to come out after ordering though venue was only quarter full. People who were known to owners came after us but were served before us. Food was rushed and cut corners. Chicken curry for string hoppers meal was watery and chicken used was dry tandoori chicken. Dahl and string hoppers were good as was the coconut chutney. Eggplant padachi was not cooked properly and tasted like tomato puree. We left it barely touched. Despite our patience with the long wait and rushed cooking, we were still charged 50 cents for a takeaway paper bag to put the leftover naan in. And becoz we had no cash/coin, it was charged to card rather than waived and extra 2 cents transaction fee added - which seemed a bit ungracious given everything.
Bit isolated Indian and Srilankan restaurant. The food was tasty. Tried Chole Bhatura which was great. Had the Thali on Friday which was special and tasty. Has not had such a thali anywhere in Australia. Felt the quantity of rice was small. Had kothu chicken on Sunday. Quite tasty. The quantity was huge. Had to take a take away container. Did not try dosa or other dishes. Surprised at the taste of food served. The main downside is the isolation. Will do better in a city location.
Overall food taste makes you feel like you are in a south indian country. Some australians enjoyed it very much. The ambience van be little warm this time of the year. But otherwise is still not too hot, as it is like a big shed. The wednesday Dossa night is awesome, only felt the dahl curry is little burnt. Price is slightly above the average. No meat meal for two is almost $100. The goat currt sold out at 730pm. Which is disspointing. I do like their chicken 65 and i think is the best in NT so far. Well seasoned.
