See All ReviewsTried the picadillo and bacon & potato breakfast tacos and both were amazing. The tortillas tasted fresh homemade, the ingredients were super fresh, and the tacos were HUGE for the price. Hard to beat 2 tacos for $6 nowadays. The restaurant was very clean, service was friendly and fast, and everything came out hot and flavorful. Definitely one of the better breakfast taco spots I’ve been to lately. Will absolutely be coming back!
As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for many years and as a Mexican I can honestly say I’m a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food. From the moment I walked in, the first thing I noticed was how clean it smelled. That might sound small, but it’s not. You can immediately tell when a place is well cared for, and that first impression set the tone. The staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming (I wish I had caught the young lady’s name who helped me!). Even though I went close to closing time, the dining area was spotless ,every table clean, everything in order. What I loved and wasn’t expecting was that the food are laid out so you can see and choose exactly what you want. The portions are generous. I ordered two tacos and was completely full .honestly, one might have been enough! They load them up with meat, rice, beans, and whatever toppings you want such as cilantro, salsas, all of it. And the prices are very affordable for the amount and quality you get. Now let’s talk about the food. The flavor, the sazón is 100% authentic. It truly felt like I was at my tia’s house at a family gathering. That nostalgic, homemade taste is hard to find, and they absolutely nailed it. The tortillas looked handmade (I had corn), and you can tell the salsas, beans, and rice are made with care. These are the details I pay attention to, and they checked every box. I also really appreciate their drink selection, lots of bottled options, even tea. Those little details matter. If anyone asks me where to get real, authentic Mexican food in Sugar Land, this is where I’m sending them. I haven’t found another place that delivers this level of authenticity and flavor here. I went for lunch, but I’ll definitely be back to try breakfast. I’ve officially found my new go-to spot when I’m craving something nostalgic and truly authentic, and I’ll absolutely be bringing my family. Sugar Land needed a place like this. So glad I found it.
Today was my first time at Sugar Mill Taco and I can't believe I've waited so long! The tacos are insanely delicious. The tacos al pastor were the most flavorful and tender, moist pastor I have EVER tasted in my life and, y'all, I have eaten a lot of Tacos from here to San Diego to Puerto Vallarta, Tampico, El Paso, Anapra, Juarez, Matomoros, and Cuidad de México. Also, I don't order chicken anywhere, as a rule, but one of the owners was behind the counter and I asked her to surprise me with 3 tacos she felt like were the thing(s) they do best - the pollo guisado was TO DIE FOR. The beef fajita meat was seasoned to perfection and the addition of the perfectly fresh and creamy guacamole was the absolute cherry on top, so to speak. There's such a wonderful, personable, and community vibe in this sweet part of our sweet town. I love that those of us in Sugar Mill and many surrounding neighborhoods can walk to this fresh food establishment and feel at home. Final note - they make their own tortillas in house - FROM SCRATCH. You can see the perfect lard spots of love in those flour tortillas 🤩✨ pure magic. I feel so lucky they chose us and our community to build their family business in. I can't wait to make memories here with my own kids. Go, stay a while, see what heart and soul is being poured into our corner of the world - and make sure you taste everything on the menu. You won't regret it.
