4 weeks agoOur group comes to Sunny Side every single week at 6 AM, and we always have a fantastic experience. The owner is absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond to take care of everyone. At this point, he knows most of our orders before we even say them, which really shows the level of care and attention he gives to his customers. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the service is great, and the food is consistently excellent. It’s hard to find places anymore that make you feel this appreciated and taken care of, especially that early in the morning. We genuinely look forward to coming here every week, and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. Great people, great food, and an all-around great experience every time. See you tomorrow morning!

a month agoMy wife was looking for a local spot to eat while we were on a short roadtrip. We apparently chose a busy time to go, so there was a little wait. We sat at the "bar" counter ( not an alcohol bar). The venue was good but over the top. The food came fairly quickly and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed a Carlito's Burger Basket made at the waitress's recommendation. I didn't ask for it, but I did appreciate the jalapeños being put in a bowl on the side. Good experience, great food, friendly staff. We will go back next time we're in the area.

2 months agoSunny Side is a solid mostly comfort food restaurant with wonderful service and great prices. It's always busy and for good reason. I appreciate that there is a mixture of standard American food and some Mexican food. One of my favorites is Freddy's a name I can't spell or pronounce correctly. You'll know it when you see it. It's spicy and delicious.

4 months agoI think they are definitely not generous with eggs. I ordered an omelette and it was the smallest omelette I have ever had in any diner. Went there another day and ordered a breakfast burrito and it came with a couple strands of eggs. I couldn’t believe it. I immediately lost my appetite. But if they want to see the actual proof of what I’m talking about with the burrito, or try to dispute then I will post the pictures on here. For now I will just post pictures of the actual burrito and what it looks like. Eggs are not very expensive serve it to people that pay for it. Will not be visiting again!

5 months agoI ate at Sunny Side this evening with my family (party of 16). The staff were friendly and took our order once our entire party arrived. I was extremely impressed with the experience. The food was prepared and got to our table much quicker than expected. I ate off the breakfast menu and the portions were very appealing. Everyone at our table was bragging about their meal - which is rare for most families. Today, Sunny Side gets 5 stars for great service, great food, and enjoyable atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to visit soon.

10 months agoI had to come to Hickory for the first time this week and decided I would grab some breakfast before heading home. I googled and this location looked like a good option. The staff and other patrons were so friendly. Even though it was a little busy we were seated quickly. The prices are very reasonable and the food was good. Would recommend and would return.

a year agoJovhanna was a wonderful waitress and very attentive. The food was delicious but my gravy was cold so they brought me more out. Other than that it was a nice first experience. The restaurant is very comfortable and clean and staff is great. We will be back!

2 years agoSuper busy on Sunday for lunch due to church crowd. We were sat relatively quickly as some groups were leaving. I order the chicken livers, menu said $6.50 with two sides which shocked me. They were delicious but menu was inaccurate and actual price paid was $8.50, still a decent deal for the amount you get but misleading if not accurate to menu. Wife enjoyed her French toast. All in all a nice place we will try again.
