See All ReviewsI came across this restaurant while getting ready to head home (I don't live in the Greenville area) and I stopped in to pick up a quick bite to eat while on my way. I'm so glad I did! 😊 The service was out of this world and the staff was so friendly! I wish I'd had time for a sit-down meal but I'll be sure to make time during my next visit. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and seeing what's up with some of those sushi selections. 😁 I wish them well and hope they continue to prosper!
If you’re even remotely serious about sushi, Sushi Masa needs to be on your list. As someone who eats sushi at least once a month and who has been to Japan, I don’t say this lightly: this place is phenomenal. The fish tastes incredibly fresh, clean, and buttery in a way that immediately reminds you what sushi is supposed to be. There’s no hiding behind heavy sauces or overloaded specialty rolls. Just simple rolls done right. Excellent rice, perfectly seasoned and textured, paired with high-quality fish. That simplicity is what makes it special. When the fundamentals are that good, you don’t need anything else. We actually lucked out getting in. We didn’t have a reservation (rookie mistake), but someone had just canceled and we were able to grab their spot. After eating there, I completely understand why you should probably make a reservation. The staff made the entire experience even better. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they care about what they’re serving and about the experience they’re creating. The atmosphere inside is calm and warm. It’s a semi-small spot, which adds to the charm. Even though it’s intimate, it never felt cramped, and we could comfortably have a conversation at our table without shouting over noise. This is officially my new go-to sushi spot. I already can’t wait to go back and work my way through more of their menu. If you appreciate simple, authentic sushi made with care and quality ingredients, Sushi Masa is an absolute must-go.
This is the best sushi place in Greenville, hands down. It’s authentic, and the food is fantastic!!
