Don’t think La Vernia needed another Tex-Mex place when Taco Vallarta arrived. But the other restaurants that have been in town for decades have been declining in quality over the years; this is a welcomed restaurant. Simple food, good flavor, good service. Nothing fancy, just good food.
Stopped by on the way through La Vernia. Ordered the 4 mini chicken taco plate. Came with a side of Charro beans. Was very good. Has a loaded salsa bar. Different salsas, roasted jalapenos, radishes, chips and more. $11 for the plate. Order at counter and they bring food out.
You gotta come support this business! Food is great! Fast and really good flavor! And an awesome salsa bar!
First time. I got the mini tacos, comes with charro beans it is delicious 😋. My wife got the jumbo quesadilla ,this was delicious 😋 as well. Free chips and salsa 😋 👌.. glad ya'll are close to my home cause I will be back
Taco Vallarta is an excellent spot for delicious Mexican food! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit enjoyable. The food is consistently great — full of flavor and prepared fresh. While it is a little more expensive than the average Mexican restaurant in South Texas, the quality and service make it worth it. A wonderful place to enjoy authentic flavors in a comfortable setting. Highly recommend!
I visited for the first time yesterday. I ordered nachos with asada. They were burnt, the beans were mushy, and the meat was overcooked 🤢🤮. I recommend double-checking your food when ordering through the drive-thru.
My son and I just tried the restaurant for the first time. I can not say enough nice things! Service was excellent. It’s counter service but then they bring your food out to your table. All the workers (all brand new since they’ve only been open a week or so, mostly teens) are super helpful and were very polite. With it being new, I asked a few questions and they were happy to help. The salsa bar is a GREAT idea. Chips are self serve. We tried all the salsas and they were all wonderful. Two are quite spicy! You can help yourself to other toppings there as well. Pico, cilantro, grilled onions, etc. Our food came out better than I expected for a counter service restaurant. I got the taco bowl with chicken fajita and my son had the enchiladas w/fajita steak. The chicken was grilled perfectly. My son’s HOMEMADE corn tortillas were SO GOOD! They were very generous portions and I couldn’t even finish mine. Overall, VERY IMPRESSED! Glad you guys are in town and hope you have great success!
The food was pretty good. We got a few things. Brisket taco (very good I would say it’s a competitor), barbacoa (not too fatty and cooked well) — these two where on the greasy side but the good side of greasy— mini tacos (Al pastor was very good , ) we also got the jumbo chicken fajita quesadillas the kids tore that up. Mexican coke in the glass bottles was a plus. The atmosphere was upbeat not too noisy good music and they even have a little lounge section. The tortillas were pretty good also. Oooh and they had a salsa bar which was great as well! The prices were pretty decent as a family of 5 and the restrooms were clean. Also the manager was there very nice and helpful. The whole process was pretty quick as well
