Got DAMN!! Ok, seriously this place deserves a Michelin Star for the quality/quantity of meat used, the salsas they provide and the QUICK service that comes with it. Out of a food truck?! The place was packed! They accept cash or CREDIT CARD. There’s plenty of parking for vehicles and outside tables to sit and eat. Again, this is a straight taco truck but man I was impressed!! Yeah, but how much you ask? The prices are very reasonable! $3/taco. Not the $4+ for a little 4” like they serve downtown Austin. I’m over it! I’ll drive the distance for these bad boy tacos! The one thing I’m upset about is I didn’t take photos of the food to show you because once I took the first bite I couldn’t put the food down long enough to take a pic. 🤦🏻♂️😂. Hope this helps you out! Cheers!
First time in Austin and I wanted some authentic street tacos so what better way than get them from a food truck. This specific one had the highest rating out of all the ones I've seen when I was looking up "tacos trucks near me". I really couldn't communicate with the people taking my order since I'm not Hispanic but overall the tacos were good. I only ordered 4 but I should've gotten 6 because I was still hungry. They're fast with making the orders like....... Chick-fil-A FAST. This Louisiana born and raised Vietnamese girl approves of this place. 👌💯🔥
Wow. Authentic, very fast service, no frills hole in the wall taco truck. I haven't heard anyone talk about Tacos El Charly but this spot is definitely one that people should try for some good tacos in Austin. At $3 each, you could get 3 for under $10. I think the price is on par with other taco spots around town. Not cheap but not crazy expensive. The salsa bar is amazing, free and delicious: Onions, green salsa, red salsa. The green salsa is my favorite! FOOD: Bistec - Tender, small cubed steak bites. Good juiciness level. The double corn tortilla was a nice base. Pastor - Juicy, flavorful, good bite You get your food within 2 minutes, crazy fast!
Great food at a great price. They're also usually very fast to get the orders ready. One of the best options I've found that really remind me Mexican street tacos.
This is real Mexican street food as it can get. Good meat protein portions and at good variety of salsas. Get out of your comfort zone and eat at these local food trucks support local food trucks because it taste good
Couldn’t take a picture of our food fast enough bc we vacuumed it down, imagine sponge bob. Spectacular, authentic. Place is a vibe, led sign on point.
Visiting from the Rio Grande Valley, 956, and saw this spot was rated high. (4.6/5 at time of review) Honest take: Probably the most disappointing tacos I’ve had due to the use of the store bought, preservative tasting tortillas, and at that they double layer it… (why?) Decent store bought tortillas would’ve got this review a higher score. Tripa was good and soft, pastor wasn’t the best, and bistesk was ok. Lemons were brown and dry, salsas were mid. Overall these were 3 out of 10.
Tacos El Charly was immaculate! Best tacos in Austin maybe. 🤔 cash only is the only downside but if you prepare for that, you should have the best culinary experience.
