I took my mother out for a special Mother’s Day dinner, but the evening was a disaster from start to finish. The service was unorganized; my mother’s meal arrived 45 minutes before mine, meaning she was nearly finished by the time I finally received my food. When her tamales arrived, they were clearly not fresh. When we requested a replacement, a staff member (I believe her name was Alicia) was incredibly rude, dismissively telling us she "didn't have time for a break" instead of addressing the issue. To make matters worse, the environment was chaotic with unsupervised children running around and screaming. Most importantly, I ended up with food poisoning after this meal. We will never be returning.
The meal was good, seasoned and not bland like most. The salsa is plain and chips were old. Salsa is something I really look forward to when eating Mexican. Plates are cheaper than normal but drinks make up for it.
Seemed to an average Mexican restaurant. My daughter had some really great tacos. The shrimp was fresh and the carne asada was delicious. They also have fresh horchata which was nice. Staff was friendly. The atmosphere is open and slightly uninviting. Older building and slightly dingy, but not a problem.
