Food was really expensive
Taqueria Los Palomitos is a charming little family-run spot right off Highway 77 in Milford, Texas — literally in their front yard. It’s run by a warm and welcoming husband-and-wife team (and their super-friendly black dog who came to greet us). They saw us pull up and actually drove up to meet us — a nice touch you certainly don’t get at chain places. The menu is simple and straightforward (though no prices listed), and the food comes out fast. We tried both the pollo and asada burritos — the asada was definitely our favorite. Portions are reasonable for the price (under $10 a piece), and everything tasted fresh. The salsa was a bit watery but still packed good flavor. You can sit in a small trailer with fans, tables, Coca-Cola in glass bottles, and shelves of hot chips — perfect for a casual roadside meal. Overall, this is a well-worth-it stop on a scenic country drive, with great service and a homey feel that makes you want to come back.
True tiny family business and well worth the stop. Home made corn tortillas for the excellent tacos.
