I'm a big fan. Authentic food that is made well and tastes great (my wife is from Puebla and she likes it). Some people are complaining about prices but everything is going up everywhere so I can't really comment. I recommend.
If you’re looking for real Mexican tacos, this spot is the truth. The tortillas are hand made and portions are huge, I tried the pastor tacos and wow very flavorful and the salsas were top notch!
This place used to be a go-to for me but over time it has become extremely overpriced. Our family of 3 spent upwards of $100 for lunch there while being charged gratuity fees as if it was a fine dining place. Won’t be going back any time soon.
The bistec and al pastor meat are quite dry. The tortilla is not very good as well, a little overcooked I think. For the gringa, the tortilla is different, feels like more store-bought. But the buche and lengua is good; it also has a lot of cheese.
This is my favorite place to get tacos in the area (including New York!), I have been coming here for over 5 years consistently, and I am never disappointed. I have tried many other Mexican restaurants, and the tacos al pastor in Vera Cruz are the best I’ve had anywhere! The meat is so good and there are pieces of pineapple in it (not just the soda, which a lot of restaurants do). Every item on the menu is delicious too, but tacos are my go to. I will keep coming back here!
Overall it was a good experience, the service was friendly, the portions were so huge that none of us finished our meals and the food was generally tasty. The guacamole in particular was good. The only caution I'd note is that the tortillas had the consistency of corn tortillas instead of the flour ones that we are used to.
My mom and I decided to order food from taqueria Veracruz, we’ve never ordered food from here but decided to give this place a try. We ordered some flautas and some tacos. A few seconds after handing out the food to the little ones, the smallest one he’s 4 comes to my mom holding a sharp needle like object. I am furious and disgusted by the way they handled it. The first time my mother called they ended up telling her “sorry about that, god bless you,” if my little brother had actually ate that we would have been rushing him to the emergency room, your blessings weren’t going to help him. Never ever going to order from here again and I’ll make sure everyone I know doesn’t either.
Solid choice, though not great. I've had Tacos al Pastor as well as the Carnitas, and although they are served authentic, I wish they were more flavorful. The ambiance is loud. Obnoxiously loud. Also, I heard two different smoke detectors that needed batteries replaced. *BEEP!*
