3 months agoWe brought a group in on Saturday and had an ABSOLUTE blast! Bartenders Willow and Aliyah were incredible—fun, energetic, and on top of everything. You could tell they were genuinely having a great time, and that energy was contagious. Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had. Can’t wait to come back!!

3 months agoAmazing atmosphere, staff and drinks! A must visit place! Beth is a great bartender come see her! Also won 50 :dollars on pull Tabs! Very clean and nice environment! You won’t be disappointed! Come to tavern 61!

5 months agoTavern 61 in Blue Grass is an easy five stars. The food was great, but the service from Willow is what truly made the visit stand out. Willow was fantastic from start to finish—welcoming, patient, and always on top of drink refills and check-ins without ever feeling intrusive. She handled everything with a calm, friendly attitude that made the whole experience feel relaxed and taken care of. The kind of service she provided is exactly what makes people want to come back and bring friends along. The burgers were cooked well, flavorful, and came out hot and fresh, exactly what you want from a local bar and grill. The mozzarella sticks were the real highlight: perfectly crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and easily some of the best around. Overall, Tavern 61 is a great spot for a casual meal, but Willow took it to another level. If you go, hope you get seated in her section—she deserves most of the credit for turning a good meal into a great night.

7 months agoI really enjoyed the double cheeseburger (1/2 lb)basket special that included a side (I got onion rings) for only $10. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable. The service was great. The free kettle corn/pop corn was fun too! Will be back to try the tenderloin or wings next time.

9 months agoGreat, relaxing spot to stop and eat. First time in Iowa, came to do the Bix7 race and wanted something to carb up. Loved it and the server Lisa was so nice and attentive to us. Would definitely come back. We had pizza, burger and wings everything delicious and specially the homemade ranch.

11 months agoI haven't had such great service in a very long time! Lisa was amazing! The palomas were tooooooo good! The chicken steips, onion rings and mozzarella sticks were honestly the best I've ever had! So glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem!

a year agoBest cheese sticks, mozzarella sticks I've ever had. Period. Pizza was top notch, too. Bar atmosphere, but suitable for families (including our 4yr old). We had great service, too. It all adds up to a place we will definitely visit again.

2 years agoIt’s a small town bar with food you don’t want to miss! This is the kind of place you could go and everyone really would know your name! The staff and customers have all been very friendly every time we’ve been in and the food is amazing! As my guy said when he took his first bite of the Pretzel Popper, “This is not bar food!” With the limited places to eat in Blue Grass it’s been so nice having the Tavern open and their awesome menu. You have to try the mozzarella sticks!
