8 months agoSunday, 10 Aug 2025. Food was awesome. Salsa was really really good. In this entire metro St louis area, my new favorite salsa. Also, my favorite margarita. Warning, the Margarita was kinda a light tan color. But wowza was it good. It was a lime margarita, but looked different, but was delicious. The GM told me it was their in house secret recipe, that made it brown(ish). Seriously, if you going south of the border, the margaritas better be awesome. Now from what i understand, they are Tequila by name, but not the franchise Tequila, like Waterloo, Columbia etc. totally separate years ago. And trust me, they are way way better. So drive out to Smithton and try them. My wife always grades a new Mexiican/TexMex on the carnitas. And they passed her taste test. As in, really really good. Me i always first time grade on ordering a Tamal/tamale. For me, I prefer to grade the masa. It was good.Now actually, i do prefer a thicker masa that i would have liked, but for midwest southern Illinois, it ain’t getting any better. So i give them an A+. P.S. Your PSA; if you drink two margaritas, please have a designated driver. Atmosphere awesome. Service, absolutely #1. Parking, absolutely plenty easy parking. So out of the Illinois metro east reviews, i give here, my new #1.

11 months agoWalked in at 9pm on Saturday night. Almost all the chairs were put up. None of the wait staff came to seat me, preferred to stand by the kitchen doors and chit chat.

Edited 2 months agoOur favorite Mexican restaurant. Food is fast, portions are huge, and margaritas are real. No mix. We go weekly and have never had a bad experience.
