See All ReviewsI've gone there often as a child in the '60s. Went back a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. However, this week I went in and the food was awful. In addition, I had ordered iced te. It tasted like it had Clorox in it. (I don't know.) I never expected to be charged $12 for two iced teas. But the biggest disappointment were the hot dogs. As others have said here, they were tough and dry and flavorless. The chili was also flavorless. My wife had ordered sauerkraut, and as a native Pennsylvania, she is a connoisseur of such, and she said it tasted washed out. Not the end of the world. Just a poor meal, from ingredients to conception. The manager seemed a decent guy. Maybe he'll take some of these lower reviews to heart and look into it. I certainly hope he does. The place holds a special place in my heart.
This has become my favorite hot dog place in town. Mustard, chili and onions all the way, and Fries better than McDonald's Everytime! My Grandma used to take me here as a kid and it hasn't changed a bit and I love that! Very friendly staff.
I stood right next to the counter for 10 minutes and never got helped. Mad eye contact with staff several times - nothing. Much different than my experience last time I was in town. No problem - plenty other places nearby to give my business.
