See All ReviewsIn the old Cactus Hotel restaurant in Cove. Not very clean, dead flies in the windows, floors sticky, menus covered in food residue, ceiling has a dew spots that were actively dripping. Should have been our cue. Gave it a chance anyway. Had Hungry Man breakfast. Pancakes and stuffed French toast were awesome, eggs over medium cooked to perfection. Bacon was good, sausage was meh. (Not the cooks fault, quality of meat issue) Wife had chicken fried chicken. Portion was good gravy was good. Mac and mashed were mush. Son had breakfast burrito which was a whole lot of hash brown and not much else.
I used to love this place, sad to see they had to combine their restaurant with the location next door (which is smelly, sticky floors, and the AC doesn’t work). I never leave reviews and this time I had to. I spent $28 on 1 Texas grilled cheese (that wasn’t melted and slightly warm), 1 cup of macaroni & cheese (that wasn’t filled up or warm and for $5 I’d rather have chick fil a mac and cheese), 1 (slightly toasted) chicken ranch quesadilla. Not to mention I ordered in and waited for 35 minutes. I get there was only 1 server, but the macaroni and cheese cup was sitting at the pick up window for 15 minutes BEFORE the rest of my food was ready. Absolutely ridiculous! Quantity, quality and wait time have gone ridiculously down hill. Super disappointed in today’s food order. Definitely will not be returning and definitely not worth the $28 price I paid today.
This place is so freaking delicious. This truly is a hidden gem in copperas Cove. And I must try for anybody. Logan who was running the register was very kind and helped us to make our choice since it was our first time there he was so courteous and couldn't be more helpful. The cook Gavin this guy is top-notch when it comes to food. Me and my daughter could not eat or food fast enough it was so good. We both had the pulled pork grilled cheese and it was phenomenal. I personally had to thank them both for their great service and attention to detail. I will definitely be coming back these two gentlemen. We're so sweet and kind. I highly recommend this place it's family-friendly and it tastes delicious. I wish I could give it 10 Stars.
