I’ve been a regular at the Bally Hotel and their events like “The Wake” for over 20 years, so it was disappointing to have the experience I did this year. At the entrance there was a cover charge that was cash only, which had not been communicated publicly in advance. When I politely suggested to the staff that future events should clearly share this information so customers know what to expect, a gentleman standing nearby who was associated with the restaurant laughed at the comment without even acknowledging me directly. That interaction alone set the tone. For me, transparency and basic professionalism matter. I chose to leave on principle, even though I had fully intended to come in, have dinner and drinks, and support the event. I later shared similar feedback on the restaurant’s Facebook page to help inform other patrons, and the post was removed. Over the past several years, through multiple “ownership changes”, the overall experience and communication around events, etc. has felt increasingly inconsistent. That’s disappointing for long time patrons who have supported this place for decades. At this point, I simply can’t get behind this level of professionalism and customer service anymore, where I’m coming there for dinner or an event.
Really nice restaurant, I was there for the Wednesday night open mic, way fun to have live music on a Wednesday
